What's new?
Pricing and Discounts have changed in Sellar based on your feedback to make sure managing pricing in Sellar is lighter and easier. See the full rundown here.
Base and Derived Price Lists
Your price lists were converted; your customers still see all the prices and discounts as before, but are now split into two different types:
Base Price List - Holds your product pricing.
Derived Price List - Inherits pricing from a base price list, holds your discounts and is assigned to your customers.
Changes you will notice:
Update and add your prices on the Base Price List - this will update all your derived price lists
You can assign multiple customers to a price list at once, making switching a group of customers to a new discount easy.
You can create a new derived price list instantly without having to enter all your prices again.
You will see a price against every product for all customers; don't worry, Product Catalogues cover this, and they will only see what they did before.
Order Rules
These no longer sit on a Price List, but can be added and assigned to your Derived Price List and Customers.
Discounts
Customer Discounts no longer exist, but you can spin up a derived price list
You also get new types of discounts to have even more control over pricing:
Per container type - Apply your discount to every product of that type. For example, everything that comes in a keg.
Per product - Choose a single product to apply a discount to. Each product can have a different discount.
To the whole price list - Every single product in the price list gets the discount. Great for that 5% off everything.
Volume discounts - When a certain purchasing threshold is met, either by quantity or spend, a discount can be applied. You can also limit this to specific container types.
How do I?
Let's quickly show you how to set some things up with the new features
How do I now create a customer-specific discount?
Simply add a new derived price list and assign it to the single customer. If more customers in the future get the same discounts, no need to replicate; just add them.
How can I have both top-level and SKU discounts?
Our derived price lists allow a mixture to refine these to match your discounts. Remember that SKU discounts have priority over top-level discounts. Simply add these both to the derived price list.
How do I create a new Base Price List?
Simply use the Add button and fill in the prices for this; remember you do this once! If your base price list is very similar to a current derived price list, you can actually click the three dots next to it and convert it over. Change only the prices you need
