How to Set Up Additional Charges for Specific Payment Methods

Learn how to add a flat or percentage-based surcharge to specific payment methods in Shopflo to cover provider fees and protect your margins.

Written by Swapnil Sangal

If a payment method comes with a provider fee - like an installment service or a specific gateway - you can pass that cost on to customers by setting up an additional charge. The charge shows up at checkout whenever that payment method is selected.

How to Set Up an Additional Charge

Step 1: In your Shopflo dashboard, click the Settings icon.

Step 2: Under Shop Settings, select Payment Settings.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Additional Charges section.

Step 4: Click Add additional charge.

Step 5: Choose the payment method you want to add the charge to - for example, let's go with Snap Mint.

Step 6: Select the charge type. Choose Flat for a fixed fee (e.g. โ‚น99 regardless of order value) or Percentage for a charge based on the order total.

Step 7: Enter the charge amount.

Step 8: Click Save. The charge will now apply at checkout whenever this payment method is selected.
