  • Scan the QR code on the webform with the camera on your mobile phone;

  • Open the web form on your phone;

  • Click on 'Open camera;

  • Scan the document and take a selfie;

  • Wait until you reach the thank you page.

Extended:

Open the link and access the web form. You will verify your identity with a document check. The document scan works best with a good mobile camera. Scan the QR code to open this form on your mobile phone. You can scan a QR code by using your phone's camera app to point at the code.

A message will then appear to open the web form via the browser.

The form is now visible on your mobile phone. Please read the tips on the form carefully! Select the document with which you want to perform identification and click 'Open camera'. You will now see a message asking you to give the device permission to open the camera, choose 'Allow'.

Scan the document with the camera and make sure the document is in the indicated window. In the next step, take a selfie (a photo of yourself), keep your face in the window, the camera will tell you when to smile, to exclude the possibility that it is a picture.

When this has succeeded, wait until you reach the thank you page. If you have any questions, please contact the organization for which you had to perform the identification.

A few tips:

  • Lay your identity document flat on a table, preferably on a dark surface;

  • Hold your camera straight above it;

  • Be careful not to block any text on the document with your fingers;

  • Make sure that no light is reflected on the identity document from above;

  • Clean your camera and make sure it has a sharp focus;

  • Make sure you have a good internet connection.

The camera automatically takes a photo. Then you will take a photo of yourself:

  • This photo must correspond to the photo on your identity document;

  • Smile when asked, that way we know it is really you and not a picture.

It is also possible to go through the process on your pc/laptop if there is a camera available. You do not have to scan the QR code, but can immediately press Next.

What can go wrong?

  • The document with which you are going through the identification process has expired. After you have completed the process, the message 'The document has expired, please try again with a valid document;

  • You do not look like the photo on the passport or ID card, for example because of a beard, glasses or age. Try to match the photo in your document as closely as possible. If this is not possible, please contact the organization which asked you to do the id check;

  • The camera does not work. It is possible that you did not give permission to use the camera. Start the process again;

  • The surroundings are too dark for the camera. Make sure there is enough (day)light. And make sure the camera is clean;

  • An error has occurred. Please go through the tips and try the identity check again;

  • The web page freezes or you receive an error message. Make sure that your browser is up to date;

  • If you can't manage it, try to run the process in a different browser, or finally on a different device.
