Recording within the mobile app is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Begin Recording
Open Siro and tap the Record pill in the floating bar at the bottom of the screen (it sits beside the Ask Siro box).
What happens next depends on whether there is anything to set up. If there isn't, recording starts immediately. If you use an appointment integration, continuous (D2D) mode, or the per-recording privacy toggle, a pre-record drawer opens first — tap one of today's appointments to start a recording already linked to it, or tap Tap to start recording to start a blank one.
If your organization requires consent, a consent screen appears before recording starts. Read it with your customer and tap to agree. Some organizations also ask for the customer’s signature. To stop without recording, tap Cancel.
Recordings, Comments and Roleplay are in the menu (☰) at the top-left.
Step 2: During Recording
The recording will begin immediately
If you need to pause at any time, tap the pause button.
While the recording is paused, you have the option to Resume, End, or Delete the recording.
Realtime: if Realtime is on for your conversation type, opening Siro during a recording takes you straight to it. Siro adds suggested next steps as the conversation goes. Tap What do I do now? for one right away, or tap the chat button to ask a question. On iPhone, the latest step also shows on your lock screen. Learn more in Realtime.
Step 3: Recording in the Background
Siro will continue to record in the background when you turn off your device's screen, or open another app.
Important note: do not swipe to force quit the Siro app during recording, as this will result in incomplete or corrupted recordings.
If you use another app that requires the microphone (taking a phone call or using your camera to take a video, for example) the recording will pause automatically. Recordings automatically restart when the microphone becomes available again.
Make sure to return to the Siro app to conclude the recording when you're done.
Step 4: Stopping the Recording
To end your recording, tap End, then tap Save & end recording. (Tap Never mind to keep recording.)
For most organizations, ending a recording opens a wrap-up screen right away (your recording is already saved). Link the customer (or the deal or repair order if you're at a dealership), check the title and sharing under More details, and read the Quick summary as it fills in. If follow-ups are on, tap Continue to see a drafted Follow Up you can edit and send by Text or Email, or tap Finish without sending.
If your organization uses the older post-recording screen, one screen shows everything to check before you move on: the customer (link one if you use a CRM, or the deal or repair order if you're at a dealership), the title, and whether to Share with team. Siro picks the conversation type for you from the conversation. Review them and tap Done. Your recording is already saved, so you can change these later.
Continuous mode (D2D) recordings still use a short step-by-step version (and still ask you to pick a conversation type).
At a dealership: link the recording to the deal or repair order (RO). This is how Siro pulls in the deal’s results, like products sold and backend gross profit.
CDK: enter the deal or RO number (digits only). You can also add the customer’s name.
Tekion, DealerTrack, Auto/Mate or PBS: search by VIN, stock number, deal number or customer name. DealerTrack deals show by stock number.
Can’t find it? Tap I can’t find my deal and add a title yourself.
Linked the wrong deal? Open the recording, go to the Overview tab, and use the DMS card to change or remove the link.
Step 5: Completion Screen
On the older post-recording screen, after you tap Done, you'll land on a completion screen showing your recordings and wins for the week, plus your recording progress for the week (the number of days you've recorded out of seven).
From this screen you can:
Use Explore more content to quickly jump to your Coaching Spotlight, My Recordings, or User Posts.
Tap Call Me to Debrief in 10 Minutes to schedule a one-time debrief call on this recording. After tapping, Siro will ask if you'd like to turn on automatic calls after every conversation, or keep it as a one-time request.
Tap Done to go directly to the recording detail page.
Step 6: Accessing Your Recordings
Once completed, your recordings will automatically appear in your Recordings tab for future reference.
Tip: Make sure to title your recordings clearly so you can easily locate them later.
