Linking a Bank Account

Link a U.S. bank account to Slay Markets for ACH deposits and withdrawals via instant Plaid verification or manual routing/account number entry. Covers joint accounts, ACH deposit hold, and removing a linked bank.

How to connect your bank account to Slay Markets for deposits and withdrawals.

You link a bank account to Slay Markets yourself in Account Dashboard > Transfer Funds > ACH — no support ticket is required. Slay Markets offers two ways to link a U.S. bank account for ACH deposits and withdrawals: instant verification through Plaid, or manual entry using your routing and account number. Instant Plaid verification is faster and reduces your ACH deposit hold period. You can link a bank account during the account opening process or at any time afterward.

ACH bank linking requires a U.S.-based bank account. Removing or changing a linked bank account is not self-service at Slay Markets — a representative processes bank changes for security and AML compliance, and changes take several business days. You can add a bank account yourself through the Add ACH Account flow described below.

The fastest way to link your bank to Slay Markets is through Plaid, a bank verification service that connects to thousands of U.S. financial institutions. Plaid instant verification links your account immediately and reduces your ACH deposit hold period. To link your bank to Slay Markets through Plaid:

  1. Log in to your Account Dashboard.

  2. Select Transfer Funds from the left navigation menu, then choose ACH.

  3. Click "Set up ACH automatically" to launch Plaid.

  4. Select your bank from the list or search by name.

  5. Enter your online banking credentials when prompted. Slay Markets does not store these credentials — they are used once by Plaid to verify your account.

  6. Select the checking or savings account you want to link.

  7. Confirm the connection. Verification takes up to 15 minutes on business days, after which your bank account is linked.

Plaid uses bank-level encryption to verify your account. Slay Markets does not see or store your online banking password. If you are uncomfortable using Plaid, link your bank through manual verification instead.

If your bank is not supported by Plaid, or if you prefer not to use Plaid, you can link your bank to Slay Markets manually by entering your routing and account number in the Add ACH Account flow. Manual entry takes longer to complete than Plaid instant verification. To link your bank to Slay Markets manually:

  1. Log in to your Account Dashboard.

  2. Select Transfer Funds from the left navigation menu, then choose ACH.

  3. Select Manual Entry (or Enter Routing/Account Number).

  4. Enter your bank's 9-digit routing number and your account number.

  5. Select account type: Checking or Savings.

  6. Submit to complete linking. Your bank account is now linked.

How long is the ACH deposit hold for a manually linked bank account?

If a bank is linked to Slay Markets through manual verification rather than instant Plaid verification, an ACH deposit from that bank may be held for up to 3 business days from the deposit date before the funds are available. Linking your bank with instant Plaid verification reduces the ACH deposit hold period, so Plaid is the faster option for both linking and depositing.

Frequently asked questions about linking a bank account

Q: My bank is not listed in Plaid. How do I link it to Slay Markets?

A: If your bank is not listed in Plaid, link it to Slay Markets using the manual entry option and enter your routing and account number directly. Most U.S. banks and credit unions are supported by Slay Markets manual verification even if they are not in Plaid's instant verification network.

Q: Can I link a joint bank account to Slay Markets?

A: Yes, you can link a joint bank account to Slay Markets if your name is one of the account holders on that joint bank account. The bank account must include the Slay Markets account holder's name.

Q: Can I link an international bank account to Slay Markets for ACH?

A: No. ACH bank linking at Slay Markets requires a U.S.-based bank account, so you cannot link an international bank account for ACH. International clients fund their account by wire transfer instead: request the official wire instructions from your Account Dashboard, then send the wire from a bank account in your own name and include your Slay Markets account number in the memo or reference field. For step-by-step wire instructions, see How to Deposit Funds.

Q: Why can't I remove or change a linked bank account myself?

A: Removing or changing a linked bank account at Slay Markets is not self-service. A representative processes bank account changes for security and AML compliance, so the changes take several business days. To remove or change a linked bank account, contact support@slaymarkets.com. You can add a bank account yourself in Account Dashboard > Transfer Funds > ACH by clicking "Set up ACH automatically."
