SmartAC.com works with most residential HVAC systems. Compatibility depends on the type of system in the home.
Compatible Systems
Heat Pumps Yes. SmartAC.com has customized logic specific to heat pumps.
Split Systems (Central Air) Yes. SmartAC.com was designed to work with all central air and heating systems.
Packaged Units / Rooftop Units Yes. Comfort and Filter sensors are required. Since packaged units are installed outdoors and don't have drain pan overflow concerns, the Water Sensor can be repurposed elsewhere in the home.
Limited Compatibility
Mini-Splits (Wall-Mount) Not recommended. The current sensor form factor doesn't fit wall-mount mini-split indoor units. However, systems with mini-split style condensers using ducted or conventional air handlers can be monitored.
Ductless Units SmartAC.com was not designed for ductless systems, but might be applicable in some situations. Contact support@smartac.com with pictures of your specific system.
Commercial Properties SmartAC sensors can be useful in commercial settings, but the software was built to support residential systems. Contact support@smartac.com to see if it would be a good fit.
