Overview

SmarterProctoring relies on Google Chrome’s media permissions to access your camera and microphone. If these settings are blocked in the browser, sharing your camera and microphone will fail during onboarding.

In this article, you will learn:

  • How to Reset Chrome Media Permissions

  • How to Continue with Onboarding After Reset

How to Reset Chrome Media Permissions

  1. Click the Puzzle Shaped Icon located at the top right-hand of your Chrome window.

  2. Locate the SmarterProctoring Extension in the drop-down menu and click the three dots on the right-hand side.

  3. When the menu appears, select View Web Permissions

  4. Click Reset permissions. When prompted, confirm the action by clicking Reset.

Continuing with Onboarding After Reset

  1. Return to SmarterProctoring onboarding by clicking the tab that contains a red circle around a red dot.

  2. Click the Share Camera or Share Audio button, depending on which step of onboarding you are at. When prompted, click the Allow button.

  3. In the top left-hand side of the screen, click Allow while visiting the site.

  4. Click Share Camera or Share Audio again, and you will now be able to continue with onboarding.
