Introduction
The new bulk settings feature allows certain users to update settings for which they have permissions across ALL assigned communities in SmartRent Manager. This feature saves time for external users managing multiple properties today, improving portfolio management capabilities for owners and operators.
Getting Started
Community Defaults will now be named Community Settings and will contain three tabs:
Bulk Settings (new)
Community Defaults (same function as now)
History (new)
To access the Bulk Settings Wizard, go to Organization Settings > Community Settings > Bulk Update Settings.
For Community Defaults go to Organization Settings > Community Settings > Default Settings.
Important Note: Community Defaults will only apply to NEWLY created properties in an organization. Bulk Update Settings is used to change current settings at active communities.
Permissions
Community Defaults - Update permission OR any settings users are allowed to change at the property level at properties to which they are assigned.
Select Communities Section
This section allows users to select which communities to update. Here, they can filter by City, State, Region, Name, and Postal Code. Users can also select all properties.
Once the communities are selected, click “Update Settings” to proceed to the next page.
Summary Banner
The summary banner allows users to navigate between sections. This will persist and allow users to navigate back to communities and view the changes they have made to settings.
The pencil icon will navigate users back to the properties page to update or edit the communities selected.
The view summary button will direct users to the summary page to view the log of changes they have made.
Settings Update Page
Users will update the settings on this page. Settings are broken down into categories. When a setting is changed, the number of changes per setting section will be displayed.
The checkboxes will have three states. A minus indicates no change has been made to that setting in the current session. A check indicates that the setting has been enabled in the current session. A blank means that the setting has been disabled in the current session.
The selector buttons will have three options, indicating the state of that setting in the current session.
We do not have the ability to show the current state of each setting, given the possibility of different configurations being active from site to site. This will only show how settings have been changed in the instance that the user is in.
