Work Management

Features

RealPage Data Sync - RealPage Data Sync furthers our integration with RealPage. Users can now sync Unit Status, Move In Date, and Move Out Date into Work Management. Those pieces of data are then used with our Boards feature to provide a best in class make ready experience.

Yardi Task Import - It was determined that in some cases, Yardi’s work orders included multiple statuses created at the same time, with one of those statuses being blank. Historically, we have filtered out such tasks, but going forward we will exclude the blank statuses and import these tasks.

Bug Fixes

Users unable to download the comparison report - This bug occurred when one of the projects on the comparison report was “closed as.” This notates a project that was canceled for some reason. The documentation will now correctly display and users will not receive an error when trying to download the report.

SmartRent Manager

Features

Offline Thermostat Banner - When a thermostat goes offline, users can now breathe easy knowing that troubleshooting just became a whole lot easier. With this new feature, a prominent banner will be displayed on the device page within SmartRent Manager's Unit → Device view. No more guessing games or searching high and low — the below banner will be displayed.

This feature will enable property teams to quickly identify and address the primary cause of device disconnections, reducing the need for extensive support team involvement and will provide quick linking to knowledge base support articles.

Offline Hub Banner - We introduced a new feature to enhance the understanding and troubleshooting of hubs in an offline state. Now, when a hub is offline users will see this banner on the Hub and Unit page.

This feature will enable property teams to quickly identify and address the primary cause of device disconnections, reducing the need for extensive support team involvement and will provide quick linking to knowledge base support articles.

Flexible Auto–Lock Options for Vacant and Model Units - Operators utilizing model status in SmartRent were previously unable to configure auto-locking on their model units during regular business hours. This presented potential security risks for clients, as they could not initiate auto-locking of a unit after a tour. By attempting to lock the model units hourly, property teams can now worry less about potential bad actors in their model homes.

This new setting can be accessed in the property device configuration settings under Lock Settings if a user has the Property - Manage Device Setting permission.

Do Not Display Pricing in SGT Toggle - We created a new “Display Unit Price” setting on the “Unit Availability” page in the Tours section of SmartRent Manager that enables you to decide if you would like to display a unit’s rent price on the Self-Guided Tours experience. This additional level of flexibility allows you to decide how you want to disclose pricing information due to high rent, evolving regulatory landscapes in certain markets or inaccurate pricing being shown from your property management system. This will happen in real-time as the setting is enabled or disabled.

Account Already Exists Messaging - To reduce confusion, Users who already have an account will now see a “This account already exists, please login with your original account credentials” banner when they attempt to click through their account creation “Welcome to SmartRent” invite link.

Device Report Update - We have upgraded our device report to enable you to better track and understand temperature and humidity levels across your properties. This ultimately enables you to proactively service and protect your assets.

The device report will now include these additional columns:

  • Highest Temperature: Displays the highest temperature recorded by the device in a 24-hour period. (Only applies to devices that support temperature)

  • Lowest Temperature: Shows the lowest temperature recorded in the same timeframe. (Only applies to devices that support temperature)

  • Highest Humidity: Indicates the highest humidity level recorded over 24 hours. (Only applies to devices that support humidity)

  • Lowest Humidity: Reflects the lowest humidity level recorded in the period. (Only applies to devices that support humidity)

  • Last Read Date/Time: The date/time the device's last data (heartbeat) was received.

If the heartbeat or last temperature data is unavailable for a device, the corresponding fields in the report will be left blank.

For those with non-customized reporting, this field will be enabled by default. For those with customized reporting, this field will be disabled by default. To enable, navigate to Report Customization and select the new fields.

Bug Fixes

Formatting for International Phone Numbers - We’ve addressed a bug that was rendering international phone numbers in a non-formatted way such as “12065553890”. Now that we’ve remedied this problem the format for these phone numbers should appear properly as “(206) 555-3890”.

Access Control

Features

Cloud Bridge Network Details - Seamlessly view Cloud Bridge network details on the Alloy Access front-end interface. This brings us one step closer to parity with the legacy site by displaying relevant network management for easier troubleshooting. Check out the image below to see all of the different data points included!

Enhanced Cloud Bridge Serial Number Entry - This improvement removes the frustration of manually deleting leading or trailing spaces in Cloud Bridge serial numbers. With this enhancement whenever a user enters a cloud bridge serial number into the system, our system will now automatically trim any extra spaces, making the data entry process smoother and reducing the likelihood of errors.

Expanded Character Limits for Cloud Bridge Names - Recognizing our users’ desire for more descriptive Cloud Bridge names, we have expanded the character limit to 60 characters by default. This enhancement allows for more detailed naming schemes, enabling better organization and Cloud Bridge identification.

Locked Option for Temp Door Modes - We've introduced a "Locked" option for temporary door modes, catering to scenarios requiring restricted access, such as pool closures or construction work in amenity areas. In this mode, no credentials will grant access, but the Request-to-Exit (REX) button remains active keeping sites in compliance with egress building code.

Elevator/Floor UI Refresh - Settings now include "Reader," "First Output," and "Active Push Button Duration" for new elevators, matching the edit options. The "Submit" button has moved to the bottom and is renamed as "Save," for easier access. This refresh simplifies setup and editing, making the process more intuitive and efficient.

Bug Fixes

Optimized Intercom (Whoo.ai) Controller Creation Process - The automated process to create Intercoms in Whoo.ai software has been optimized to prevent issues caused by timeouts that could lead to duplicate entries. For example, if the network was slow or unreliable during the installer setup process, Whoo.ai could struggle to handle intercom creation requests creating multiple intercoms for the same device.

Display Cloud Bridge Last Communication Time in Site TZ - This ensures that the last communication times for cloud bridges are easier to interpret, aligning with the local context of the site for more accurate monitoring and troubleshooting.

Alloy Install

Features

Request Hub Software Info Update - This update adds the ability for installers to view a hub's Z-Wave SDK version so installers understand what needs to happen to successfully set up the hub. This will help to ensure that hub swaps go smoothly and efficiently. If using a SmartRent hub, you can request that the hub sends updated software information to our systems. This is necessary information for installers when performing Hub Swaps, making the process faster and more efficient.

Hub Restore Fails Sooner - This update lowers the allotted time frame for a Hub Restore to fail. This helps provide installers with the right information so they can continue with their installation in a more efficient manner without waiting for unnecessary and elongated timeouts that have proven to not help resolve the issue. This was previously set at 15 minutes and has been lowered to 10 minutes. The new timing is based on the average duration of successful restores. This allows us to simultaneously maintain the quick speed of successful restores while saving a minimum of 5 minutes per restore on failures.

Notifications for Multiple Job Deletion - With this new update, anytime multiple jobs are deleted, a push notification is sent to all users assigned to the Project. This allows for more accountability and can ensure that projects have more visibility into what is happening on a day-to-day basis. This update is important for field operations so installers aren’t going to jobs that have been removed, saving them time and frustration. It also works to inform project leaders so issues can be evaluated and mitigated if necessary, leading to higher compliance and project quality.

Comments after Completion - Being able to record historical data is imperative to understanding how to solve a problem in the future. Project comments often get overridden when a go-back occurs and users cannot see what the original issue was. We removed the ability to add/edit comments on completed jobs in order to resolve this. If a job is completed, you no longer can add or edit comments. This update preserves original comments for evaluation at a later time. Admins can change the status of the job and add additional comments if necessary.
