Smart Apartments

Features

Jammed Lock Report - We added a new Jammed Lock report that summarizes jammed lock events by property. This report allows property teams to ensure that jammed locks are inspected and resolved; it can also serve as a potential indicator of jamming causes, such as sagging doors, weatherstripping replacement, and or other issues. The Jammed Lock report provides events for the past rolling week and displays Property Name, Property Code, Unit Name, Unit ID, and Event Recorded At. This report is currently hidden behind a feature flag for most customers..

Update Auto-Enable Tours for Property Management System Status - This update accounts for any discrepancies between unit statuses within the property management system (PMS) and SmartRent Manager. Previously, unit status would be directly mapped between the PMS and SmartRent Manager. For example, a client may have a unit status of “Vacant Unrented Ready” which would be mapped to “Vacant” within SmartRent Manager. This update ensures that not all vacant units would be automatically marked as ready to tour. When clicking the Auto Enable Tours dropdown, clients with a PMS integration enabled will now see a list of statuses as used by the PMS instead of the simplified unit statuses used in SmartRent Manager. Clients who do not have a PMS integration enabled will still use the default SmartRent Manager Status.

Support Mode - We are excited to share Support Mode 2.0, a new feature that replaces the need for property teams to create individual user accounts for SmartRent employees. Support Mode 2.0 provides a streamlined process by seamlessly granting temporary access for SmartRent employees to communities on an as-needed basis. This feature further improves platform safety and security, providing better control of who has access to your community(ies) at all times. For more information, please see this help article.

Work Management

Features

Yardi Boards Data Sync - Boards, a previously released feature within Work Management, allows users to view the task list in a manner that is representative of a make ready board to simplify the turn process. Boards tracks progress, provides a timeline, and includes a move-in/move-out risk indicator all within a single source of truth platform. This update syncs the current unit status as well as move-in and move-out dates from the property management system so that the feature is most useful for clients utilizing Yardi.

Android Dark Mode - We now support dark mode for Android users. Users can choose between the standard, or light-mode, version of the app and the new dark mode version so that it matches the settings of their device.

Android Onboarding Screen Updates - We updated the onboarding screens for users with Android devices to improve the overall experience. These updates include a refresh of the tip screens displayed.

Access Control

Features

View Unlock Schedules on the Doors Table - We’ve helped users get the information they seek quicker by making it easier to view which doors are currently on an unlock schedule and when they were last synced. Now, the Doors page table includes a column labeled “Unlock Schedule”. If the door is not currently on an unlock schedule, the column will read “None”. If the door is currently on an unlock schedule, the column will show the name of the schedule. The name will be clickable and link to the schedule page. The Doors table also now displays the date and time of the last sync within the “Synced At” column.

Auto Sync After Updating Schedule Exceptions - We improved the process for adding and updating schedule exceptions by automatically syncing controllers. Previously, users were required to click the controller sync button; now, the system automatically syncs the affected controllers. Automating the sync process results in improved system performance and reliability.

Alloy Pass

Features

Sign In to Alloy Pass without a Mobile Pass - We made signing into Alloy Pass easier for Schlage lock installers. Previously, users were required to have a mobile credential to be able to sign into Alloy Pass; now, as long as the account has been set up in Alloy Access, users can log into the Alloy Pass app.

Alloy Pass Android Lock Scan - This update helps provide users added clarity when a nearby lock scan has been initiated for sites with Schlage bluetooth locks. Previously, users might have wondered if anything was happening during a lock scan as the scan can take a few seconds and the screen would freeze. Upon selecting the “Search for Nearby Devices” button, or pulling the page to refresh, there is now a loading indicator graphic and the “Search for Nearby Devices” button is disabled and grayed out until the scan is complete.
