SmartRent 1.99.0
Community Overview Page - The Community Overview Page has a new look and feel! The functionality will stay the same so you can continue to use the platform without any additional training.
Migration Station Notification - We have updated our Brivo integration so that when a new resident is linked, they will receive an automated email with their access credentials. To enable this functionality, navigate to the Community Overview Page and select Settings → Integrations → Brivo → User Migration→ Enable Toggle next to “Notify Resident.”
We have included a message below the toggle that says, “By enabling this, you will be resending the Resident Access Email to all future linked residents on this page.”
Entrata - Property Settings Checkboxes For Unit Sync - We have added a toggle that will allow you to include disabled units and floorplans in your Entrata integration. Previously, we only synced certain units depending on their status. This update allows you to sync all units in SmartRent Manager so devices can be paired. To enable this functionality, navigate to Settings on the left-hand navigation → Integrations → Entrata → Property Settings → Select toggles next to “Include Disabled Units'' and “Include Disabled Floorplans.”
Auto-Generated Work Order Descriptions for Leaks
We have added a description to any work orders auto-generated from a leak sensor. This will help you better understand why a work order was created. One of the following descriptions will populate depending on why the leak alert work order was auto-generated:
Leak Detected (Immediate Work Order Creation): Community settings are set to immediately create a work order if a leak sensor detects a leak.
Leak Detected (Threshold Reached): The leak sensor remained in a “Leak Detected” state longer than the threshold set in the community settings.
Leak Sensor Fluctuation: The leak sensor fluctuated between “Leak Detected” and “Leak Not Detected” too many times within a limited timeframe.
Bug Fix: Unit Maintenance Work Order Creation Fails to Save Assigned Vendor - We have fixed a bug that prevented vendor assignments from saving within a work order.
Bug Fix: Resident Updated Phone Not Sending Access Code Text - We have fixed a bug that prevented residents from receiving access notifications when they updated their phone numbers within ResWeb.
Alloy Access 1.14.0
Features
Door Mode Change Update - We have updated the Temporary Door Mode functionality in Alloy Access. You can set a variety of Temporary Door Modes (Image 1 below) over a specified duration of time. When the duration has passed, the door mode will return to the previous door mode state. For those with the Alloy Access integration, you can use SmartRent Manager to manually change door modes for up to 1 hour (Image 2 below).
Note: When the Temporary Door Mode has been set, you can select the “Reset” button at any time to return the door mode to its previous state.

Email Invite Resend - We have added the ability for organization admins and community managers to resend invites to new users. Previously, Alloy Access users had to request help from SmartRent Support to resend user invitations. Now, they will be able to save time by performing the action themselves.
Note: The “Resend Invite” button only appears when there are invited users who have not yet set up their account. Once set up, the button will no longer be visible.
Self-Guided Tours 2.59
Features
Join Waitlist When No Units Are Available - We have added the capability for prospects to join a waitlist when no units are available to tour. Previously, prospects could only join the waitlist when prompted to reschedule an existing tour due to the unit(s) no longer being available. Prospects can now choose to join the waitlist and be notified when a unit becomes available on the Unit Selection page. In addition, a custom message can be added to the waitlist confirmation page, allowing you to add any additional information. To add a custom message, go to Settings → Tours → Tours Schedule and add under Waiting List.
Tour Settings Bulk Update - Organization admins now have the ability to update tour settings at one time for all communities, or a selection of communities in their organization, without having to update each individually. To make a bulk update, organization admins will go to Settings → Community Defaults and can make changes to the following default settings: Tour Schedule, Marketing Theme, Prospect Settings, and the Indemnity Agreement.
Once any setting changes are made, the organization admin will select Override Current Settings and then select which communities to override, whether that’s a selection of multiple communities or all within the organization.
UK Phone Number Formatting - UK-based prospects are now able to use their UK phone number when entering their contact information, allowing them to receive tour-related communication via SMS messaging.
Access Card for Alloy Access BLE-Only Locks - Prospects touring a community using BLE locks for common areas can now gain entry into those spaces via a community access card. The community access card will prompt prospects to download Alloy Pass, which will provide them the BLE credentials to gain access. To activate this feature, navigate to Settings → Integration → Alloy Access → Property Settings → Prospect Property Access and select the checkbox for “Show BLE Access on Community Access Card.”
Add Waitlist Column on Prospect Report - You can now view waitlist information on the Prospect Report, allowing for follow-up with waitlisted prospects.
Resident Mobile 2.24 / Alloy Smart Home 1.16 (Releasing 2/16/22)
Features
International Phone Number Support Is Here!
As part of our expansion into the UK, we need to support international phone numbers. Phone numbers are used for issuing access codes, as well as notifying residents of device activity, so using the appropriate country code is critical. When signing in to the app, residents are given a dropdown to select their country.
iOS
Android
The country selected at sign-in is used to determine how phone numbers are displayed and to pre-populate phone number fields throughout the SmartRent App. This helps residents confidently verify or update their phone number in the My Profile section of the app. The app will also assume that any guests will be located in the same country and will conveniently pre-populate the country code when creating a Guest Access code. The country dropdown is always offered, making it easy to change it at any step in the process.
Support Screen Has Been Customized for the UK
The UK Support Team has a unique phone number and email address it will use when assisting residents and community managers with day-to-day matters. We have updated the text and behind-the-scenes action of the tiles in the Help Center accordingly.
Enhanced Automations for Residents using iOS
Automations and Scenes are an essential part of the smart home experience. Until now, Automations could only trigger one action within the home. For example, a resident could have an Automation where unlocking their door would turn on a light in the living room. We have added the ability to trigger more than one action, such as turning on the light and adjusting the thermostat. It can also initiate one of the resident’s previously created Scenes. Note: This was made available on Android in a previous release.
Bug Fixes
Android
Stay Signed In Does Not Work When Biometrics Are Also Enabled - In a previous release, we added the ability to enable the Stay Signed In feature and Biometric authentication from the initial Welcome Page. This inadvertently created a bug where if a resident had both Stay Signed In and Biometrics enabled, they would be signed out after 15 minutes of inactivity. This resulted in a lot of complaints and negative reviews in the Google Play Store. Those who posted were instructed to disable the Biometrics feature as a temporary fix so that they could stay signed in. Now, residents can successfully combine the Stay Signed In and biometric authentication for the ultimate convenience in logging in.
Checkmarks (Versus Arrows) Displayed When Creating a Schedule - The app uses arrows to indicate when there is an additional step in a workflow. Checkmarks are used to finalize and/or confirm a workflow. This fixes an issue where checkmarks were being displayed instead of arrows in the middle of the workflow when creating a Schedule. These checkmarks have been replaced by arrows.
In-Progress Banner Not Displaying When Residents Change Their Code - When performing actions related to managing access, banners are displayed indicating that the requested task is in-progress. This fixes an issue where the in-progress banner was not displaying when a resident would change their code. Residents will now be notified that their new code is being created.
Contact Sensor Status Shown As Unknown - Residents can check to see if a contact sensor is “Open” or “Closed” in the app. This fixes an issue where Ring and Alloy Home contact sensors were displaying a status of “Unknown”. Device communication has been restored and the app will now display either “Open” or “Closed”.
iOS
BLE-only Accounts Can’t Open the Access Screen - Residents should be able to visit the Access screen to see their access credentials in the SmartRent App. This fixes an issue where the app would crash if a resident who only had an Access Pass (BLE credential) tried to open the Access screen. These residents can now successfully navigate to the Access screen and view their Access Pass (i.e., their BLE credential) from there.
Access Pass (BLE Credential) Still Works When Signed Out - Once a resident signs out of the SmartRent App, all mobile credentials should be disabled. This fixes an issue where if the app was open Access Passes (BLE credentials) would work even though the resident had signed out. Now, signing out of the app will always disable an Access Pass.
