Hardware

Features

Support for Kwikset Obsidian - We now support the Obsidian Lock Touchscreen Electronic Deadbolt by Kwikset. This capacitive touchscreen keypad for personalized PIN codes and keyless entry utilizes built-in Z-Wave® 500, allowing users to remotely control and monitor the lock via SmartRent software.

Access Control

Features

Sort Doors Table by Temporary Door Mode - This update makes it easier to view and identify doors that are in temporary mode. We now sort the Doors Table by default to show doors with the longest remaining time left in their current override at the top of the table.

New Sign-In Error Message - This new feature provides actionable error messages on the sign-in screen when you enter an incorrect email address or password. The site now alerts you when you input incorrect information on the sign-in page by showing an error message that reads “Incorrect email or password.” You can use the new “Forgot password?” button to retrieve this information and sign in.

Bug Fixes

Temporary Door Mode for Card or PIN - We resolved an issue impacting Temporary Door Modes for cards and PINs. Previously, when using Temporary Door Mode for cards or PINs with a set duration, the door incorrectly treated this temporary mode as permanent. This now functions as expected, and the door is only set to temporary mode for the designated duration.

Resident App

Features

Service Requests - Residents can now submit service requests directly in the SmartRent app. This makes it easier for residents to get maintenance assistance and lessens the number of phone calls and emails to site teams from residents needing maintenance support . To use this feature, the community must already have Smart Apartments, Work Management, and Engage services deployed. Service Requests fully integrates with pre-existing PMS integrations and is our next step in creating the ultimate resident experience.

Away Mode - Residents can now set their thermostat to Away Mode. Away Mode lets residents set a specific temperature that will override any pre-existing Schedules and Automations, helping them save on unnecessary utility expenses and energy usage. This is ideal for residents going on vacation or leaving their home for an extended period of time.

Access Tab for Residents without Fob/Pin Code/BLE - Residents without a Fob, PIN, or BLE pass assigned can now view the “Access” tab in the resident app and create guest codes for visitors.

Bug Fixes

Push Notifications Not Sending When Resident Is Actively Using App - Previously, Residents were not receiving push notifications from SmartRent if they were actively using the app at the time the notification was triggered. Residents will now receive a push notification 100% of the time it is triggered (unless notifications are turned off by the resident), regardless of whether or not they are actively using the app or it is running in the background.

MH4 Thermostat Not Allowing Schedule Creation - Residents trying to create a Schedule for an MH4 thermostat were receiving an “Unable to create schedule, please try again” message within the resident app. This has been resolved and residents can now create Schedules as intended.

Expire Tokens Allow Residents to Access App without Re-Logging In - Residents who should have been logged out by the resident app due to 15+ minutes of inactivity remained signed in with access to control devices. This has been resolved so the app correctly forces a resident to re-sign in before having access to devices.
