False Alarm Action for Work Orders - Automated leak detection work orders will now have a required field that allows users to note if the alert was a false alarm, with an option to select “yes” or “no” from the dropdown menu. If the work order is marked as a false alarm, the work order overview will display, “False Alarm Marked By: [user/resident first/last name]” and be marked as Completed. If users do not make a selection, they will receive an error message, “Unable to Complete Work Order.”

This will help provide you with clearer data on our Asset Protection Dashboard. This update was released on June 2, 2022.

Okta / SAML Auto-Assign - Property Code Update - If your organization uses Okta, you can now automatically assign users to a community based on the property code within your property management system. When you click on the SmartRent application within Okta, SmartRent will receive data on the property code associated with your user information and give you access to the corresponding community within SmartRent Manager. This will ensure that properties are correctly synced between your Okta environment and SmartRent Manager, eliminating the need for manual updates. This update was released on June 2, 2022.

Resident Mobile 2.25 / Alloy SmartHome 1.17

Features

Prompt Residents via the App - We now have the capability to deliver event-based or one-off prompts to residents through the app. The primary use case for this capability would be to highlight new features in the app and prompt the user to download the 3.0 version of the app later this summer.

“Get New Code” Button Now Inactive During Access Code Generation -

Residents have the ability to generate new personal access codes at any time through the app. While waiting for a code, some residents may tap the “Get A Code” button again, causing a second code to be generated, resulting in resident dissatisfaction from not knowing which code is truly active. By making the “Get Access Code” button inactive during the generation process, this should prevent access code confusion.

Bug Fixes

Android

Creating a Guest Access Code for a Salto Lock Causes App to Crash - The app’s process for creating a Guest Access Code is the same for all lock types. This fixes an issue where the app would crash if the lock was Salto brand. Residents can now successfully create Guest Access Codes for Salto locks.

Resident Told to Set Up WiFi When Hub is Offline - A hub must be online in order to connect to a network. This fixes an issue where residents who are signing in to the app for the first time were told to connect to a network instead of alerting them that their hub is offline (if that is the case). Residents will now receive the hub offline alert first, allowing them to troubleshoot before attempting to connect to a network.

iOS

US Residents Seeing the UK Support Information - We have separate email addresses and phone numbers for the SmartRent Support Teams in the US and UK. This fixes an issue where the app’s support screen was displaying the UK team’s contact information to US residents. Residents will now see the appropriate contact information based on their location.
