Community Manager - Web

NEW FEATURES

Smart Parking: A new beta solution from SmartRent aimed at tackling the parking management issues prevalent across the property management industry. This module provides resident parking management, ancillary revenue opportunities for guest parking and real-time parking enforcement. Our smart parking module will help you understand your parking inventory’s utilization and deploy a parking system that will revolutionize parking across your portfolio.

  • The beta program for this solution is currently full. You can sign upfor this module post-beta launch or email braeden@smartrent.com for additional information.

Vacant Staff Codes Permission: We’ve enhanced our Vacant Staff Code feature to better limit unnecessary access for corporate and regional managers and expedite the adding and removal of codes on occupancy change.

Organization admins will now see new permission under Access Code named “receive vacant access code.” When enabled, a vacant access code will be created for each user of that role type and automatically added to vacant units on occupancy change. Once configured, this will apply for all new users of that role type.

Community Access System: We have expanded our building access code functionality so that it is provider agnostic, permitting integration with other providers, such as Alloy Access and PDK. This will allow SmartRent to better respond to the variety of property access controls systems currently deployed.

Likewise, the system is now more fully integrated with our unit access and move-in/ move-out workflow systems creating a more streamlined user experience.

If Brivo is enabled, a resident will receive his or her property and unit access codes through an expiring link sent via email and SMS during the move-in process.

Customizable Property Access Groups: For our Brivo connected communities, we now support the ability to add or remove a subset of units/users from various custom created user groups that map to pre-configured sites, access points, and access credentials.

Communities will have greater insight into building, floor and amenity access spaces based on custom configurations. For instance, only residents of units (and their guests) on the penthouse floor should have access to those doors and/or elevator controls.

When you click “Access Groups” you will be able to create customized access groups which will allow you to do the following:

  1. Name your group

  2. Add subset of unit(s)

  3. Once created, you can map the Custom User group to a corresponding Brivo Group

Delete Resident Owned Devices on Move Out: As property staff, when moving a resident out, devices owned by that resident will be removed to aid in device tracking and efficiency.

SAML Checkbox: During user record creation, we now show a checkbox that says “SAML Enabled.” If this is enabled, no welcome email will be sent to the user prompting them to create a password because that user already has a login via their single sign-on. This checkbox will only be visible for organizations that have already set up and configured SAML login for their organization.

Subscribe to Webhook Events: Webhooks allows organization admins to subscribe to events from within their organization. When one of the events occurs and the organization is subscribed to that event, the provided URL will be sent a payload describing the event details to help provide faster response times and custom reporting options.

Events include:

  1. Hub Offline / Hub Online

  2. Tour Created / Tour Cancelled

  3. Tour Access Code Used

  4. Jammed Lock

To set up an event subscription, please contact support@smartrent.com.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • To increase security and better limit unauthorized access to our application, we now have an inactive session auto-logout that occurs after 15 minutes of inactivity.

  • General performance improvements have been made to reduce timeouts and overhead.

FIXED

  • We fixed a time discrepancy bug to now show proper conversions to local timezones for work order request dates and times.

  • We’ve added an update to allow multiple Community Manager - Web installation workflow tabs to be open without causing a lockout.
