Login Error: "Request Blocked" (VPN or IP Masking Detected)

How to fix the 'Request Blocked' login error on Splash Sports caused by a VPN, proxy, or IP-masking service.

Updated yesterday

This error means our security system detected a VPN, proxy, or IP-masking service on your connection. Splash Sports uses location verification to confirm contest eligibility, and these tools interfere with that process.

How to Fix It

  1. Disconnect your VPN completely — pausing isn't enough, turn it off entirely

  2. Disable any IP-masking browser extensions — proxies, privacy plugins, or anything that alters your IP address

  3. Switch networks if needed — corporate Wi-Fi, school networks, and some secured networks can trigger this error even without a VPN. Try your home Wi-Fi or mobile data instead

  4. Disable ad blockers temporarily — some ad-blocking extensions interfere with login verification

  5. Enable location services in your browser — Splash needs location access to verify eligibility

  6. Refresh the page and try logging in again

Why Does Splash Need My Location?

Splash is a licensed real-money gaming platform and is legally required to verify that users are physically located in an eligible state or province before entering paid contests. Location verification happens at login and when entering contests.

If your state doesn't allow real-money contests, you can still participate in entertainment-only (self-managed) contests, which are available everywhere in the US and Canada.
