What are promo codes
Promo codes can be created and shared with travelers to reduce the subtotal of their order. Travelers can apply codes either at checkout during registration or in their traveler portal.
There are two types of promo codes that can be created:
Percentage: This will reduce the total subtotal by the percentage discount
Specific Amount: This will reduce the subtotal by the indicated fixed amount
Promo code settings:
Have unique names
Can have limited quantities available
Have custom activation and expiration dates
Can be conditional requirements for specific trips or packages
How do promo codes work
Percentage promo codes can only be applied at checkout during registration. If a percentage promo code is applied, it will reduce the subtotal balance. If the traveler is paying the processing fees, the fees will be calculated based on the discounted subtotal.
Specific Amount promo codes can be applied at check out during registration or in their traveler account after purchase.
How to create a promo code
To create a promo code, go to Company Stats > Promo Code > Select a trip you want to create a promo code for.
Indicate if the promo code applies to all of the trip package options or a specific option
Create the name. Everything that is written in this field is in capital letters, and that is not an issue. Promo code name is not case sensitive.
Below the name of the promo code we have an check box to set this promo code to active. It is always set to active by default. If we wish to create a promo code but use it later we can uncheck this box, promo code will be created but not active.
Set the quantity available. This will limit the number of times the promo code can be used.
Indicate percentage or specific amount. By default it is set on percentage.
Indicate if promo code is applied per traveler or on the whole amount of the trip. We have this option just for promo code that is Specific Dollar Amount.
Set the activation and expiration date.
Save and share the promo code.
☝️ Note: If the Organizer is paying the processing fee, the promo codes will automatically calculate allocation for the processing fee and trip balance.
How to edit a promo code
Already created promocodes can be edited or deleted. Just select the trip that you wish to see promo codes for. We can narrow it down even further by selecting specific trip option.
Promo Code rules
Travelers can only apply one promo code per order.
Promo codes cannot be removed once they’ve been applied. If a discount needs to be removed, contact help@squadtrip.com
Promo codes cannot create a negative balance.
If a traveler is trying to apply a promo code that offers a discount greater than their order or total balance due, they will receive an error message.
