In expedited or daily copy situations, reporters often need to share the task of scoping or proofing with a teammate or delegate a task to multiple scopists or proofreaders to ensure a timely turnaround.
Utilize Stenovate's subtask feature to clarify which teammate is covering which portion of the transcript by adding page ranges and assigning the appropriate teammates.
Quick Steps for Adding & Utilizing Subtasks
1. Navigate to the Transcript Workspace
From the My Work page, locate the transcript you need to upload files to or download files from.
From Card View
From the Card View, Click the View Workspace button located at the bottom of the transcript card.
From List View
From the List View, click on the Transcript Title to enter the workspace.
2. Locate the Transcript Progress Box
You can find the Transcript Progress box in the center of every transcript workspace. (It's hard to miss!)
3. Hover Over the Scoping or Proofing Task
When you hover over the Scoping or Proofing row, you'll notice that the row becomes highlighted, and a square button appears just to the left of the task title.
4. Click the Add Subtask Button
Click the Subtask Button to open new fields for you to insert a page range.
5. Add a Page Range
Add the starting page and ending page for the portion of the transcript you'd like to assign tp a scopist or proofreader.
6. Click Save
Once the page range has been added, simply click Save to create the subtask.
7. Assign a Due Date
Now that the subtask has been created, you can assign a due date to this specific subtask, or you can leave it blank if the subtask is due from the scopist or proofreader at the same time as the overall task (all scoping / all proofing).
8. Assign a Teammate
To the far right of each subtask row, there is an icon of a person with a plus sign. Assign a specific scopist or proofreader to the task by clicking the Add-Teammate Icon for the subtask you'd like to assign and choose a teammate.
β οΈ If you have not already invited a scopist or proofreader to the workspace, you cannot assign them a task within the workspace.

9. Repeat!
You can create and assign as many subtasks as you'd like to your scoping and proofing teammates, ensuring everyone is on the same page. #PunNotIntended
Additional Subtask Notes
Once you create a subtask, the slider for the overall task (Scoping or Proofing) will disappear and turn into a progress bar. You're not controlling the overall progress of that task through the subtasks.
You can split scoping and proofing tasks with your scopist or proofreader by assigning yourself to a subtask after it has been created.
If you accidentally assign the wrong person to a subtask, you can unassign them and then assign the appropriate person.
