What is a Trial Stint?
Updated over 6 months ago

Trial Stints are there to help you assess whether a Stinter is a good fit for your Stint Team before they join.

They are a perfect opportunity for you to see their personality and work ethic in action, and for them to learn about your business and the role. All Stinters are required to complete 2 Trial Stints for every Stint Team / role they do, before they are asked to fully commit to them for a minimum of 3 months.

In most cases, Trial Stints are an additional 30 minutes so you have time to train them.

Here’s to ensure both you and your Stinter get the most out of a Trial Stint:

  • Clear communication: Clearly outline the goals and expectations of the role, and any helpful pieces of information when they arrive.

  • Ongoing feedback: Provide constructive feedback and answer any questions throughout the Trial Stints to set the Stinter up for success.

  • Positive experience: Create a positive environment so they have an enjoyable experience and want to continue with your Stint Team.

  • Two-way trials: Remember, Trial Stints are an opportunity for Stinters to learn and feedback about you and your business as well.

"Pass" or "Fail" Stinters after they have completed their first Trial Stint.

As the Stinter will be new to your business, it's important to consider their learning curve. Be patient and welcoming, and remember they may need some time to adjust. Focusing on the second Trial Stint for a final "Pass" or "Fail" decision allows for a more comprehensive assessment.

Please note that Stinters are automatically passed if you haven’t passed or failed them by the start of their third Stint.

Feedback goes two-ways.

While you assess the Stinter, they also get a chance to see your work environment, team, and role expectations. This two-way evaluation ensures both sides are happy.

Trial Stints are a valuable tool for ensuring you build a strong and successful Stint Team. By investing time in this process, you can ensure a long term and great fit.
