Are subtitles added directly to the video?

Written by Chloe

How to add subtitles to your video with the Subanana subtitle tool:

Add subtitles with video editing software

Click the "Download subtitles" button in the top-right corner of the editor and download the subtitle file (.srt), or download another subtitle file type (.vtt or .fcpxml) as needed. You can then add the subtitles to your video with video editing software such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

YouTube CC captions

Click the "Download subtitles" button in the top-right corner of the editor and download the subtitle file (.srt), then upload the subtitle file directly in YouTube Studio to use its built-in CC caption feature. For a detailed walkthrough, see our blog tutorial:

Download the video with subtitles burned in

Once you have finished editing your subtitles on the subtitle editing page, you can adjust the video aspect ratio, the subtitle style and size, and even the video background right in the tool, then directly download a video file (MP4) with the subtitles already "burned in":

1. Set the video aspect ratio in the subtitle tool

2. Adjust the subtitle size, style, and position

3. Click [Export] in the top right, then click [Export video]

4. Choose the output video quality to start generating the subtitled video
