How to configure Click & Collect with sunday

Find out how to configure Click & Collect with sunday: service activation, opening hours and time slots, menus, settings, visual identity and order link.

What is Click & Collect?

Click & Collect allows customers to order and pay for their meal online before arriving, then pick it up at the restaurant, at the counter or in a designated area at the selected time.

There is no need to download an app: customers use a QR code or a web link. The order is sent directly to the kitchen through the POS integration.

For your establishment, this makes it possible to:

  • reduce queues and make pickup smoother;

  • increase the average order value through the digital menu and additional sales;

  • provide a consistent ordering experience across sunday products, with a referral commission advertised at 0% compared with third-party ordering platforms. This commission is separate from any payment processing fees that may apply.

Configure Click & Collect

1. Activate the service

Click & Collect is activated by the sunday team when your account is set up. No action is required from you at this stage.

Once the service has been activated, you can configure its opening hours, time slots, menus and settings from your dashboard, under:

Service Management → Take out

2. Create and configure the service

From the dashboard, open:

Service Management → Take out

From the restaurant dashboard, go to Service Management → Take out, then select the Click and collect tab. Next, open Service configurations.

The calendar displays the pickup slots available for each day. Configured slots appear in blue.

To create a new configuration, click on a time slot in the calendar. A configuration window opens.

Then click Create a new service. If a configuration already exists, you can also select it from the Select an existing configuration menu.

3. Configure the menus

From the service page, open:

Service Management → Take out → Menu(s)

You can associate different menus with different services. For example, one menu can be offered at lunchtime and another in the evening, with each menu linked to a specific service.

To edit the menus used for Click & Collect, open:

Menu Management → sunday menus

Make sure that the menu associated with Click & Collect is Active and that the toggle is enabled in the sunday menus tab.

An inactive menu will not be displayed to your customers.

To manage your visual identity, open:

Appearance → Branding

From there, you can manage your logo, colours and images.

4. Understand the service settings

The Service settings button is located at the top right of the service management page.

These settings determine how Click & Collect orders are accepted and prepared:

  • Preparation time (in minutes): the time needed to prepare the order;

  • Order window in days: the number of days in advance during which a customer can place an order;

  • Maximum number of orders per time slot: your establishment’s maximum capacity for each 15-minute slot. The duration of a pickup slot cannot be changed;

  • Send the order to the POS x minutes before the pickup time: when the order is sent to the POS before the pickup time.

If an order reaches the POS too early or too late, first check the Send the order to the POS x minutes before the pickup time setting.

How does an order work?

  1. The customer opens your Click & Collect link.

  2. They choose their products and a pickup slot.

  3. They pay online.

  4. The order is routed to your POS.

  5. Your team prepares the order.

  6. The customer picks it up at the counter or in the designated pickup area.

Before putting the service online

Before finalising the configuration, check the following items for your establishment:

  • the Click & Collect display;

  • the order settings;

  • the menu and category images;

  • the overall customer experience.
