How do you configure the Hybrid service from your dashboard?

Learn how to create an area, assign tables to it, choose the Hybrid mode, select the menus, and publish your configuration from the Service management tab.

Important

For your first Hybrid setup, contact your account manager.

What is the Hybrid service used for?

The Hybrid service allows your customers to view your menu, order from their phone during the meal, and pay their entire bill at once, at the end.

Hybrid complements traditional table service. Your staff can continue taking orders in person, while customers can use the QR code to order additional items, such as another drink, a dessert, a coffee, or a side dish.

Depending on the configuration selected, Hybrid can work in two ways:

  • Reorder only: the server opens the bill in the POS, then the customer uses the QR code to order additional items and pay at the end.

  • Open bill: the customer opens their own bill from the QR code, orders during the meal, and pays the entire bill at the end.

In both cases, payment takes place only at the end of the meal. Customers do not pay after each order.

How do you configure the Hybrid service?

1. Open the Service management tab

From your dashboard, open the Service management tab, then select Dine in.

2. Create an area

Create an area corresponding to a space or use within your establishment, for example:

  • a dining room;

  • a terrace;

  • a bar;

  • a specific section of your restaurant.

Use a clear and descriptive name so that you can easily find the area during configuration.

3. Assign tables to the area

Select the tables that should use the Hybrid service in this area.

Repeat this step for each area required by your establishment.

The tables assigned to the area allow sunday to identify the corresponding bill and link new orders to the correct table.

4. Create and configure the Hybrid service

From the area you have just created, or from an existing area:

  1. Click Create a service.

  2. Select Hybrid as the service type.

  3. Choose the desired Hybrid mode:

    • Reorder only, if the server must open the bill before the customer can place an order;

    • Open bill, if the customer must be able to open their bill from the QR code.

  4. Choose the days and times during which the service should be active.

  5. Select the menu or menus that should be displayed to customers.

  6. Check that the available products match the intended customer experience.

For Hybrid, it is generally recommended to make products available that customers can easily order during the meal, such as drinks, desserts, coffee, or side dishes.

Important: carefully check the categories and products displayed in the menu. Incorrect filter settings may make certain products unavailable or, conversely, allow customers to order products that are not intended for Hybrid.

5. Save and publish the configuration

If the configuration is not complete, you can save it as a draft and complete it later.

When the configuration is ready, click Publish.

A configuration saved as a draft is not applied to customers.

How do you check that the configuration works?

Before considering the configuration complete:

  1. Open the link for a QR code associated with a table.

  2. Check that the correct Hybrid service is active on the expected day and at the expected time.

  3. Depending on the selected mode, check that:

    • the server can open the bill before the customer places an order;

    • or the customer can open their own bill from the QR code.

  4. Check that the selected menus and products are displayed correctly.

  5. Place a test order using the QR code.

  6. Check that the order is correctly sent to the POS and the kitchen.

  7. Check that the new items are added to the same bill.

  8. Check that the final payment works correctly.

This check confirms that your customers will be able to order additional items from the correct table and pay their entire bill at the end of the meal.
