How does tipping work in our system?
In our payment solution, the tips collected at the end of each service are redistributed to the teams according to each restaurant’s internal organization. Tips are not only distributed to servers but can also be shared with other staff members, such as the kitchen team, dishwashing staff, and the bar.
This sharing, called a tip pool, ensures that the entire team is rewarded for their contribution to the service. The restaurant manager decides the percentage allocated to each group, according to the restaurant's needs and internal policy.
We also offer a direct tip distribution system for servers who collect their own tips.
Mandatory step:
Register each staff member with their phone number via the dashboard so they can log into the Sunday for Staff app. This ensures that each employee is properly listed and ready to receive their share of the tips. More details here.
Tracking tips on the Sunday dashboard
Managers/Directors can easily track payments and associated tips through the dashboard. In the Operations > Payments section, they can view the details of each transaction.
The total amount of tips collected is visible in the "Collection" section of the Tips tab, offering a clear and detailed overview of the weekly collection.
Tracking tips on the Sunday for Staff app
Servers can track their tip collections directly from the Sunday for Staff app. This feature allows them to see real-time amounts collected and upcoming transfers to their banking account.
Every Monday, the previous week’s tips are automatically transferred to their banking account, without the need for any intervention from the Manager/Director.
