About Membership Subscriptions

What a subscription is, and how it works.

Tailored Tutors' weekly and monthly Memberships are subscriptions.

This means:

  • You will be charged for your subscription on a recurring basis, in perpetuity, until you cancel it (on either a weekly or monthly cadence, depending on the subscription type you chose at checkout).

  • A subscription payment will grant you access to your course for the following billing period—i.e. the following week or month, depending on your subscription type. To be exceptionally clear: a payment does not pay for access you already had during the previous billing period—it pays for you to have access in the upcoming billing period.

  • The recurring billing cycle is anchored on the day of the week or month you originally paid, depending on your subscription type.

  • Your subscription is charged automatically by our digital payment processing system.

  • If you do not cancel your Membership prior to your billing date, you will be charged for it.

  • There is absolutely no scenario in which our billing system will charge you if you have already cancelled. If you have been charged, it is because you did not cancel on time. It is your responsibility to cancel on time to avoid being charged.

  • If you do not want to be charged, you must cancel your Membership prior to your billing date.


Tailored Tutors Membership Subscription Policies

These policies apply to recurring Membership subscriptions which are delivered either weekly or monthly (they do not apply to multi-month one-time payment packages granting access to the end of exams this or next year).

  1. It is solely the Member's responsibility to know when their billing date is and to manage their Membership accordingly, by either:

    1. Cancelling prior to their billing date to avoid being charged

    2. Ensuring their payment details are up-to-date and/or that there are appropriate funds in their account to cover the fee for their Tailored Tutors Membership

  2. Discounts applied to existing Memberships will only remain as long as that specific Membership is live.

    This means: if you end your subscription, or are automatically unenrolled due to failed payment (or any other reason), your discount will end too.

    Members who lose their discount due to automatic unenrollment in these cases are not entitled to receive the same discount again.

  3. Each student must enrol in Tailored Tutors with their own account and Membership.

    Account sharing directly violates our Terms of Use.

    We monitor a range of user metrics to identify unique users and determine fair usage (including IP addresses, account log ins, free trial attempts, active learning sessions, tutor questions asked, quiz completions, resource downloads, video watch times, and more).

    Account sharing will not be tolerated. Students who are determined to be account sharing will:

    • Immediately have their account(s) terminated without refund (including Flip free school access).

    • No longer qualify for the A/A* Guarantee.

    • Be prevented from creating new accounts.

    • Be prevented from enrolling in Tailored Tutors courses in the future—including paid courses, promotional offers, free Flip school access and Free Trials.

  4. Members are not entitled to refunds for payment collected as a result of mis-timed cancellation or forgetting to cancel.

    Students may cancel their Membership at any time and still keep access until the end of their trial or billing period—so there is absolutely no reason to wait to cancel until the last minute.

    We make every effort to ensure students understand how our subscription service works, and provide clear and readily available instructions to support them to cancel if/when they want to.


Common Questions About Subscriptions


Question 1: Why was I charged a Membership fee?

Answer: You were charged because you didn't cancel your Membership prior to your billing date.

  • If you started your Membership via the Free Trial — you had the duration of the Free Trial within which to cancel your Membership to avoid being charged.

  • If you started your paid Membership directly — you had the Membership billing period (either one week or one month, depending on your subscription type) since your initial purchase to cancel your Membership to avoid being charged.

Note: Students may cancel their Memberships at any time without losing access to their course until the end of their billing period.

We structure the cancellation system this way to allow plenty of time to cancel prior to your billing date—there is no reason to wait until the last minute to cancel. It is for this reason that Members are not entitled to refunds on the grounds of mis-timed or forgotten cancellation.


Question 2: When will I be charged for my Membership / when is my Membership billing date?

Answer:

  • For direct to paid Membership subscriptions — your next billing date (the date you will be charged) will be one week or one month after your initial paid sign up date, depending on your subscription type.

  • For "Free Trial" Membership subscriptions — your initial billing date (the date you will first be charged) will be at the end of your free access period.

    For example, if you sign up to the 2 Day Free Trial, you will be charged 2 days after the time you sign up.

    After your initial payment is charged, your recurring billing date will be one week or one month after your initial paid sign up date, depending on your subscription type.

Note: We recommend Members set a recurring calendar reminder for their recurring billing date to ensure card details are up to date and that there are enough funds in their account to cover the Membership fee.

If your payment fails (for any reason), our system will automatically and immediately end your Membership and unenroll you from your course(s).

About Discounts Attached To Your Membership

Students with existing discounts on their Membership should be aware that those discounts will only remain as long as that specific Membership is live.

This means: if you end your subscription, or are automatically unenrolled due to failed payment (or any other reason), your discount will end too.

Students who lose their discount due to unenrolment are not entitled to receive the same discount again.
