Teacher level permissions give access to individual data within the TalkingPoints platform. The teacher level experience includes permissions that are considered core functionality 🔒 (lock emoji) and cannot be turned on / off. Read below to learn more about teacher level permissions and their definitions.

Teacher Level Permissions

Access to messages

Inclusive of all permissions below

View all messages exchanged with students/contacts

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to view all direct messages and announcements exchanged with students/contacts they have access to.

Send direct messages to students/contacts

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to send direct messages to students/contacts the user has been assigned.

Send announcements to classes/groups

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to send announcements to all assigned classes or groups.

Schedule messages and recurring messages

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to schedule messages and set up recurring messages.

Set up auto-replies

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users can set up auto-replies.

Download message history

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to download message history exchanged with students/contacts.

Student management

Inclusive of all permissions below

View students in assigned classes/groups

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to view students assigned to them.

Edit student information

Ability to set the home language for confirmed students aged 13 years old or older as part of student messaging or edit student information for manually added students.

Edit contact information

Ability to set the home language for contacts or edit contact information for manually added contacts.

Group management

View all groups

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to view all groups assigned to, or created by them.

Create and manage teacher groups

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to create and manage personal teacher groups from students assigned to them.

Class management

Inclusive of all permissions below

View all assigned classes

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users have the ability to view all classes assigned to them.

Staff member are automatically assigned to classes in their roster

🔒 Core functionality, teacher-level users are automatically rostered to all classes they have been assigned in the school’s roster data.

Analytics

Inclusive of all permissions below

View teacher analytics

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users can view their personal engagement and statistics analytics (language breakdown, ELL status, valid/invalid numbers, device type).

🔒 Core functionality, all teacher-level users can download their personal analytics reports.
