If your district runs summer school and you want to use TalkingPoints during that time, here’s what you need to know.
Does TalkingPoints Work During Summer School?
Yes — but there are a few things to coordinate.
This year, the TalkingPoints Global Pause runs from June 12 – July 30, 2026. During this window, data syncing is paused for all TPC API partners. If your summer school falls within this window and you need live data, you’ll need to request a custom schedule.
If Your Summer School is During the Global Pause Window
Complete your BTS planning form. Indicate that you’re using TalkingPoints for summer school and provide your dates (check your email for a recent communication from your Partner Success Manager or reach out to partnersupport@talkingpts.org to get access).
Our team will set up a custom pause/resume schedule for your API so your data is active when you need it.
Plan ahead — data resumes 3 business days before your requested start date to allow time for syncing and approvals, so be sure to factor this in to your planning.
Summer School at the Start of SY 26–27
If your summer school is at the beginning of the new school year (i.e., after your SIS rollover), be aware:
Your SIS will likely roll over before or during summer school, which means TalkingPoints will start receiving SY 26–27 data
You may see a circuit break as large volumes of new data sync for the first time
You can control visibility of Class Schedules in the Family App by following the instructions here.
Rostering Summer School Students
Summer school students need to be rostered in your SIS and syncing to TalkingPoints to receive messages via this rostering method.
