Using TalkingPoints Connector During Summer School (CSV SFTP Partners)

How to manage TalkingPoints data during summer school if your district shares files. Covers pausing and resuming file delivery, Infinite Campus export settings, and timing for the new school year.

Updated this week

If your district shares data with TalkingPoints via file uploads (SFTP, Infinite Campus exports, PowerSchool exports, or CSV) and you’re running summer school, here’s what to know.

How Your Integration Works During Summer

Unlike API-connected partners, TalkingPoints does not automatically pause your data sync. Your data is controlled by the files you send us. This means:

  • If you keep sending files, TalkingPoints will keep updating with whatever data is in those files

  • If you stop sending files, TalkingPoints data will remain static at whatever it was when you last sent

  • You are in control — we’re not the gatekeepers of your file schedule

If You’re Running Summer School

  1. Make sure summer school students are included in the files you send to TalkingPoints

  2. Continue sending files on your normal schedule through summer school

  3. Let us know when summer school ends so we can coordinate the pause before SY 26–27 data starts flowing

Pausing File Delivery

If you want to pause updates to TalkingPoints during part of the summer (for example, after summer school ends and before the new year starts), you’ll need to stop sending files to us.

Infinite Campus users: You can uncheck “Enable scheduled export” for each file in your IC Data Extract settings to pause delivery without deleting the configuration.

Resuming Files for the New School Year

When you’re ready for SY 26–27 data to appear in TalkingPoints, resume sending your files. We recommend resuming 3–5 business days before you want data to be visible to staff, to allow time for processing.
