Setting teacher availability

How to add and manage a teacher's available hours in Teach 'n Go, and how availability affects booking.

Written by Abdullah Al-Hussein

Teacher availability tells Teach 'n Go when a teacher is open to take lessons. It's used to control what time slots appear on the booking page.

The label "teachers" may be renamed in your school. If you don't see the Availability tab described below, check your permissions.

Who can edit availability

Users with full admin access can edit any teacher's availability. Teachers can edit their own availability through the teacher portal, but cannot see or edit other teachers' schedules.

Adding recurring availability

  1. Open a teacher's profile and click the Availability tab.

  2. Click Add recurring time.

  3. Set a start date and end date for the availability window (e.g. the term dates).

  4. For each day of the week the teacher is available, click Add time and set the start and end time.

  5. Click Save.

You can add multiple recurring time blocks — for example, different hours on different days, or separate blocks for different terms.

Editing or removing availability

Click an existing block to edit its dates or times, or click the trash icon to remove it.

Important: what availability does and doesn't do

Availability only controls the booking page. It determines which slots students can request via self-booking. It does NOT prevent an admin from manually scheduling a lesson outside a teacher's available hours. If you book a teacher into a lesson at 9pm and their availability ends at 6pm, Teach 'n Go will let you do it without a warning.

Use availability as a guide for student-facing booking, not as a hard lock on admin scheduling.
