What are my responsibilities as a temporary worker?

Follow company instructions, be professional, and show up on time to increase your chances of getting accepted again

Written by Temper | Work to Live

As a temporary worker on Temper Staff, you have a few important responsibilities to ensure everything goes smoothly for you and the hiring company. Here’s a quick guide to help you succeed:

  1. Follow the company’s instructions and guidelines

Carefully listen to and follow the instructions provided by the hiring company. Each company has its own guidelines, whether about dress code, safety, or work procedures. Following these ensures everything runs smoothly and helps you deliver top-notch work.

  2. Be on time and show professional behaviour

Punctuality is crucial! Being on time shows reliability and respect for the team. Aim to arrive a little earlier whenever possible. Additionally, maintaining a professional attitude by staying focused, handling challenges gracefully, and being respectful to others will increase your chances of being selected for future shifts.

  3. Stay safe and healthy

Your health and safety come first! Always follow safety guidelines at your workplace and take care of your well-being during your shifts. If you’re sick, follow the steps detailed here.

  4. Be flexible and communicate openly

Temporary work can change quickly. Being flexible and adaptable to new tasks or schedules shows you’re a reliable team member. If you encounter any issues or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the hiring company or to us at Temper. Clear communication is key.

  5. Cancel in time

Unable to attend a shift? Inform the hiring company and cancel as soon as possible to allow them time to adjust. Always try to communicate any changes in advance. Keep in mind there is a 48-hour cancellation policy.

  6. Annual tax returns

Remember, you’re responsible for filing your annual income tax returns each May. You’ll need to report your earnings to the Tax Authorities, but don’t worry—Temper will send you an annual statement to help you with the process.

By following these simple guidelines, you’ll not only help the company but also set yourself up for success in future Temper Staff shifts. We’re here to support you every step of the way!

If you have any questions or need help, feel free to reach out. We're always happy to assist!
