What is the low accuracy alert?
Your device may lose accuracy during your shift due to losing the connection to a satellite signal. Reasons for this may be:
Obstructed by site equipment or machinery
Antenna covered by worker PPE
Working in a built-up area i.e. high buildings or trees
If your device loses accuracy, you'll receive the following alert:
If you hear this alert, you can continue to carry out your work relying on your primary form of protection and remain aware of your surroundings and safe working limits.
The device will show three solid green lights once accuracy has been regained.
Low accuracy alert hints and tips
There are a few actions you can take to reduce the impact of, and know when to expect, low-accuracy alerts during your shift:
Carefully attach devices: make sure the device is attached to track worker PPE or on site assets, in positions that are unobstructed
Expect alerts when: working in built up areas with high trees or buildings, or near bridges and tunnels, you're more likely to experience the low-accuracy alert
Be patient with the device: sometimes it will take a few minutes after connecting to gain accuracy stability
Please note: If your device has been in storage, or not used for a longer period of time:
Check devices are fully charged, if they've been kept on charge for a long time, take off charge and then re charge for at least 4 hours
Allow up to 10 minutes for the device to gain accuracy before use
