Find out about the project templates feature on the Dashboard and how to use it

In this article you'll find information on project templates and how they can be used on the Tended Dashboard to save time when planning your site's geofences (safe zones).

Why create a project template?

  • Quickly create a new projects using previously generated or drawn safe zones

  • You'll save time not having to re-create safe zones

  • Create project templates for recurring geofencing sites


How to create project templates?

You can create a project template from an existing project OR from scratch, when you're creating a new project.

Create a template from an existing project

  1. Find the project you want to make a template from, click the duplicate button

  2. Choose which setting you'd like to duplicate from the menu. Then click "Create as template"

  3. Click "Duplicate project"

  4. Then, you can choose to make edits to the project name, project manager and project duration. When you're happy, click "Save"

  5. Now, head back to the project list and click on the "Templates" tab. View, edit and duplicate your template from here

πŸ’‘ Tended tip: make sure to name your project templates clearly so they can be quickly found and used from the list.

Create a template from scratch

  1. Create a new template by clicking "Start a new project" from the projects table

  2. Enter your project details, and click "This project is a template"

  3. Then, as usual, create your project and create your site(s) with safe zones and any planned asset locations. This project template will then appear in the "Templates" tab.


How to use a project template?

  1. Locate your project template from the "Templates" tab on the projects table

  2. Click the duplicate project button

  3. Choose which project details you'd like to duplicate from the menu. Then click "Duplicate project"

  4. Edit the project name, team name and manager to meet the requirements of your new project. The click "Next step"

  5. Edit the project duration to meet the requirements of your new project. Then click "Save"

  6. The new project can now be found in the "Scheduled" tab in the project table. From here you can make edits to the template.
