In this article you'll learn how to create a custom role with specific permissions. With custom roles, you can choose what different users can access on the Dashboard giving you more flexibility.

How to create a custom user role
Log in to your Tended Dashboard.
Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the screen.
Click on "User roles" at the top of the screen and then "Create custom role" on the right.
A modal will pop up. Click in the "Role name" box and type what you'd like the role to be called.
Click in the "Role description" box and type in the purpose of this new custom role.
Click "Create role" when you're done.
How to change permissions for a custom user role
Log in to your Tended Dashboard.
Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the screen.
Click on "User roles". Use the horizontal scroll bar or the arrows to scroll and find the custom role you want to add permissions.
Click "Edit permissions and users"
You will now be on a page where you can view all permissions. Scroll or use the search bar to find the correct permissions and click the toggle to add them.
Once you click the permissions, the toggle will turn green. Changes will automatically save.
From the top of this page click the pencil icon to edit the name and description of this custom role. Or click the trash can icon to delete the custom role completely.
