An introduction to how to create and use Snippets for analysis

Updated over 10 months ago

Snippets are a core tool for analyzing qualitative data in Tetra. This guide will walk you through creating, modifying, sharing, and automating snippets, as well as using them during live meetings.

1. Creating Snippets

You can create snippets in several ways:

Highlight and Annotate: The simplest method is to highlight a portion of the transcript or asset, then annotate and tag it to create a snippet.

2. Modifying Snippets

Once a snippet is created, you can modify it in various ways:

Change the Text Range: Adjust the range of the transcript text by dragging to expand or reduce the selection.

Add or Edit Tags: Apply additional tags to the snippet as needed.

Update Notes: Change or add notes associated with the snippet for more detailed analysis.

Add to Insight: Click Add to Insight to link the snippet to an existing insight or create a new one.

3. Collaboration and Exporting

Snippets offer several collaboration and export options:

Commenting: Notify teammates about a specific snippet by leaving a comment.

Export: Click the three dots next to a snippet and choose Export Clip to download that segment of the transcript as an MP4.

Sharing: Use the Share button to:

• Share with teammates logged into Tetra.

• Password protect the snippet.

• Make the snippet public by generating a shareable link.

4. Automating Snippets with TetraBot

Tetra provides automation features to streamline snippet creation:

Automatic Tagging and Q&A Identification: TetraBot can automatically identify questions and answers in your materials, applying tags and creating snippets for each identified section.

TetraBot Chat: In TetraBot Chat, you can preview automatically generated snippets during your analysis. Accepting these snippets will add them to your project’s analyzed data.

Turn Response into an Insight: TetraBot can also generate insights based on snippets, automatically creating corresponding insights from identified responses.

5. Creating Snippets During Live Meetings

You can also create snippets during live meetings using Tetra’s live meeting tools:

Live Notes and Timestamping: While TetraBot is live-streaming a meeting, click the Launch Live Notes button to access live meeting tools. From here, you can:

Create Timestamped Snippets: Start typing to create a snippet that spans from the moment you begin until you submit the note.

Real-Time Tagging and Notes: Add notes and tags to snippets as the meeting progresses.

Highlight and Tag the Live Transcript: Use the live transcript window to create snippets in real time, similar to how you would with uploaded videos.

6. Viewing and Managing Snippets

To view and manage all your snippets:

• Navigate to the Snippets Area inside your project, where you can filter snippets by metadata and interact with them for further analysis.
