Templates in Tetra allow you to standardize how research is conducted and how data is analyzed across your organization. This guide explains how to create and use templates to streamline workflows and maintain consistency.
1. Accessing Templates
To access your templates:
• Step 1: Click on Templates from the main navigation bar.
• Step 2: You will see all of the custom templates that have been created by your organization.
Templates can be created by Creators and Administrators at any time.
2. Using Templates
When you open a template, you’ll find several preconfigured elements related to project information:
• Custom Fields: Templates can have prepopulated values for fields like product group or research type. For example, if you frequently conduct usability testing for a mobile app, you can set this metadata to automatically populate whenever you select usability testing in a project.
• Research Materials: You can also preconfigure research materials such as an overview, interview guides, and supporting files. These will automatically be included when a project is created using the template.
3. Creating Consistency with Tags
One of the most important aspects of templates is the ability to create consistent tags across your account:
• Tags and Definitions: By precreating tags with the correct definitions and names, you ensure consistency in how data is labeled. This consistency helps when using universal search or filtering properties to find the right data.
• Templates automate the creation of tags, ensuring that teams across your organization use the same terminology and criteria.
4. Precreating Project Fields and Insights
Templates allow you to automatically create project fields and insights:
• Precreate Project Fields: Metadata associated with interviews and other project elements can be preconfigured, ensuring that projects remain consistent.
• Precreate Insights: Even before any data is collected, you can precreate insights. This allows team members to find and associate snippets and data with existing insights.
5. Creating a Template from an Existing Project
You can easily create a new template from an existing project:
• Step 1: Go to the Settings area at the bottom left of the project.
• Step 2: Click Convert to Template. This will turn all elements of the project into a template that can be immediately reused by others in your organization.
