Sometimes, things don’t go as planned. This guide outlines what to do if you don’t see markings on your site or if utility members haven’t responded to your ticket within the required time frame.

Scenario 1: It’s Been Over Two Business Days, and You Don’t See Any Marks

  • Go to the Portal and find your ticket.

  • Use View Responses to check the current status.

  • If a utility member hasn’t responded, submit a No Response Ticket in the Portal. This alerts them to re-check and mark the area.

Scenario 2: Utilities Are Marked, but Something Looks Off

  • Check the ticket to ensure the correct location and scope of work are listed.

  • If the marks seem misplaced or unclear, contact Texas811 by calling 811, or open the ticket in the Portal and request a No Response Ticket for a second review.

⚠️ Important Reminder:

Not all underground utilities are publicly owned. Private utilities (like lines running from a meter to a building) are the property owner’s responsibility and won’t be marked by public utility members.
