Mobile Drive Chip and Putt Scoring Stations

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is only available with the following products:

A popular form of competition amongst juniors is the Drive Chip and Putt Event, when their skills are put to the test. With a typical DCP event, you may be using scorecards and entering scores at the end of the round.

With Mobile Drive Chip and Putt Scoring Station, you can utilize scoring volunteers or golf shop staff assigned to each DCP station to collect players' results via our iPhone, Android, or iPad app. Each scoring station will be assigned a GGID to enter results. These scoring stations are a quick and easy way to collect results during the event, instead of waiting for the junior to hand in their scorecard and then entering results.

In this article, we will discuss how to set up and manage Mobile DCP Scoring Stations and enter scores for your DCP Event.

Setting Up DCP Scoring Stations:

Each DCP Scoring Station will be assigned a GGID. You can set a scoring station for each station individually or have multiple stations assigned to one GGID. If you have one volunteer at each station, it will be best to assign only one station to a GGID. If you set up a "scoring table," you could instead assign multiple stations to one GGID.

To use the Mobile DCP Scoring Station, you must first set up your DCP Event. For details on setting up a DCP Event, Click Here. After setting up your DCP Event, follow these instructions to set up the DCP Scoring Station:

  1. Go to Round > Mobile DCP Stations.

  2. Click "Add DCP Stations."

  3. Choose the "Type" of DCP Station to set up.

    1. Create one station for each skill: Creates a separate station for each selected skill.

    2. Create stations for one or more skills: Create one station that includes multiple skills.

  4. Select the "Course" the station is at.

  5. Pick the "DCP Skills" to assign to the station(s).

  6. Click "Continue."

Once a DCP Scoring Station is set up, you can access the GGID by going to Rounds > Mobile DCP Stations (as shown below).

Note: If managing a DCP event using multiple courses, you can set up both courses at once.

Downloading the Mobile App:

Volunteers can search in their mobile app store for the free app by entering "Golf Genius." The app is currently available for the iPhone (Apple iOS 11 or higher), Android (Android 4.4 or higher), and the iPad.

Enter Scores Using the Mobile App:

To enter results at DCP Scoring Station using mobile, iPad, or Android apps, follow these instructions:

  1. Enter a DCP Scoring Station GGID into the app. These can be found by going to Round > Mobile DCP Stations. A summary page will be displayed to confirm that the correct GGID was entered.

  2. Click "Continue."

  3. Select a pairing group that you would like to record results.

  4. Enter the results for the first player in the group by clicking the dropdown arrow and selecting the appropriate results.

  5. To enter scores for the next player, click "Next," and you will enter the results for that player. Repeat that process for each player in the group.

  6. Click the back arrow once all results have been entered for a group.

The sequence below shows the process of recording results for a group from the Drive Scoring Station of a DCP Event. In this sequence, the volunteer logs in, finds the group at their station, and records the results for all three group members.
