This article will help you to determine whether you would need to create a CNAME or an A Record in your Host site in order to set up your Domain Masking feature for your Travefy account.
You will not need to set up both an A Record and a CNAME - you will only need to do one or the other.
Set up a CNAME if...
You already have your own website.
You would like to have content from Travefy appear on a similar URL, (e.g. https://trips.travelcompany.com/)
If you would want to set up a CNAME you will want to go to your Domain Masking Settings in your Travefy account and select the first option listed under Step 1:
Once you have selected this option, you will then be able to proceed with entering in your (purchased) Domain Name and then saving those changes.
From there you will be able to complete the Setup Instructions to configure your DNS through your host site, to work with the Domain Masking. To learn more about those Setup instructions click here.
Set up an A-Record if...
You would like to use your Travefy domain as your website. (e.g. https://travelcompany.com/)
If you would want to set up an A-Record, you will want to go to your Domain Masking Settings in your Travefy account and select the first option listed under Step 1:
Once you have selected this option, you will then be able to proceed with entering in your (purchased) Domain Name and then saving those changes.
From there you will be able to complete the Setup Instructions to configure your DNS through your host site, to work with the Domain Masking. To learn more about those Setup instructions click here.
IMPORTANT: You may only have one A Record listed on your host site or the Domain Masking will not be set up properly in your Travefy Account.
When setting up the A Record on your host site, you will want to see if there are any other A Records listed prior to saving your changes.
