Tier Points and miles typically appear within 3–7 days of your flight completing. For BA Holidays packages, base Tier Points credit within approximately 7 days, extra Tier Points within 24–72 hours, and bonus Avios within 4–6 weeks.

TravelSmarter does not automatically sync with airline systems in real time. You need to manually update your balance by going to your Profile or Loyalty Wallet, clicking Edit next to your programme, and entering your current balance.

Tier Points determine your elite status level - they count towards reaching and maintaining tiers like Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Miles or Avios are your redeemable loyalty currency - they can be spent on flights, upgrades, and other rewards. Both are earned on eligible flights but serve different purposes.

If you do not earn enough Tier Points before your reset date, your status will be downgraded to the tier your points qualify for. TravelSmarter shows how many days remain until your reset on the Dashboard and Status page so you can plan accordingly.

Some airlines and fare types do not earn Tier Points on British Airways or American Airlines programmes. Non-partner airlines, basic economy fares, or flights operated by carriers outside the oneworld alliance will typically show 0 Tier Points.
