Whenever you are searching for cleaners, the contractors in your area will be able to send you a bid.

A cleaner's bid is a statement of the amount they would like to be paid to work on your property. There are no charges for accepting a bid by itself, but the amount set on it will be marked as the default payment amount for that cleaner.

This amount can be negotiated and even changed in the future (both before or even after the bid is accepted).

As such, the first and most crucial step to start a business relationship with a cleaner is to accept their bid. This will make sure that the cleaner will be added to your team and that you will be able to talk about the details of your cleaning needs and share your schedule with them. This article will walk you through all the steps related to accepting a bid.

📝 Before accepting a bid

Add a payment method 💳

We require a payment method to make sure you are serious about your search. You will not be charged at this time. You do not pay any fees for opening a search for cleaners, chatting with cleaners, or accepting bids. Payments are processed only after a cleaner completes a project. Please note that it's not possible to accept bids without adding a payment method to your account.

Add a calendar to your property 🗓️

It's necessary to link a calendar from your booking platform to automatically create cleaning projects. Make sure you add one before accepting a cleaner’s bid. Please note that it's not possible to accept bids without syncing a calendar on the property you're accepting bids for.

Talk to the cleaner 💬

Once you have everything ready, you will be able to accept bids, but if you want to, you can also contact the cleaner and talk to negotiate or discuss details before accepting their bid.

Please keep in mind that no personal information can be shared at this stage. Any information regarding identity or location should only be shared after a bid is accepted.

Messages that contain specific information or attempt to arrange for an offline meeting before the bid is accepted will be blocked. Accounts that send or request information too many times before accepting a bid are subject to being removed from the marketplace.

To make sure you are following Turno's rules and guidelines when addressing a potential cleaner, you can also check the following guide regarding our off-platform policy:

✅ Accepting a bid

On the website, go to "Cleaner Search", where you will see a list of your open searches. A button with the number of bids you have received will show on the search card. Click on it to see a list of the bids you received on that offer.

(You must be logged in to your host account for the button above to work.)

Click on a cleaner's bid to view more details about the bid.

On the cleaner's bid page, you will see more details about the cleaner and their bid. A card will show the cleaner's bid amount, which will become their default rate to clean your property when you add them to your team. Along with this card, there will be a button to "Accept Bid and Add to My Team", like so:

(Depending on your screen size, the button to accept the bid might show under the bid details and not to the side like in the screenshot above.)

In case you still need to add a payment method and a calendar, the following notice will open. Click the buttons to add the required information from there:

As soon as you have entered all of the information, this screen will be shown to indicate the cleaner has been successfully added to your team:

If you have more bids for this property, you will be prompted to add more cleaners to your team by accepting their bids right after. You can click on "Add all cleaners", or select the ones you'd like to add on this screen:

If you'd like to add more cleaners, make sure to switch the button to "yes" for all the cleaners you'd like to add:

Once you click "Next", you will be prompted to select which properties to add these cleaners to. You can click on the field that shows your property's name to select more properties. You can add these cleaners to as many properties as you wish. Make sure to add them to all properties you'd like them to receive projects from. Once you're ready, click "next".

When you add several cleaners to a property or a new cleaner to a property that already has other cleaners enabled, the following screen will prompt you to select a role for the cleaner.

🧹 Primary Cleaners will be notified of your projects first. We recommend you designate only one cleaner as primary. If you have more than one cleaner set as primary, all of them will see a project, but only the first one to accept it will be assigned to it.

🧽 Backup Cleaners will only be notified of your projects if the primary cleaner rejects them (or if no primary cleaner exists for that property).

The following article offers a more in-depth look at cleaner roles:

And that's it! The cleaner will be added to your team and properties as you've selected them. From now on, they will be able to see and accept projects from your schedule that are available to them.

⚠️ Note: Please keep in mind that once you accept a bid, your search will only stay open with all your bids for 24 hours. If you would still like to receive bids, reopen the search or reach out to our Customer Support team so we can help you with reopening it! ⚠️
