A project in Vantage represents the work you are delivering for a client. It brings together all the events, tasks, files, and people involved in getting that job done.
Projects sit between opportunities and events in the Vantage workflow. Once a deal is confirmed, it becomes a project, and the work happens through the events inside it.
How a project is organized
A project has four tabs.
Info is the main tab. It holds the core details: client, due date, owner, scope, and team roles. The task list on the right keeps project-level actions on track.
The Events tab lists all events that belong to this project (installs, surveys, deliveries, etc.). You can add new events directly from here and see how many are complete.
The Docs tab stores all files for the project, organized into folders by event so your team can find what they need straight away.
Comments is where your team leaves notes and discusses the project without leaving Vantage.
How projects fit into the Vantage workflow
Projects are the central step in how work moves through Vantage:
A deal is tracked as an Opportunity in the sales pipeline.
When the client confirms it, the opportunity converts into a Project.
The project groups together all the Events, the individual jobs your team completes.
Projects do not have to come from an opportunity. You can create one directly at any time.
FAQ
What is the difference between a project and an event?
What is the difference between a project and an event?
A project groups together everything related to delivering a job for a client. An event is a single scheduled activity within that project — an install visit, a survey, a delivery. A project can have as many events as the job requires.
Do I have to create a project before creating events?
Do I have to create a project before creating events?
No. Events can exist without a project. However, linking events to a project keeps your work organized and makes it easier to track progress, share files, and manage tasks across a whole job.
Does a project have pricing?
Does a project have pricing?
No. Pricing lives on the opportunity, not the project. If you need to refer back to the deal pricing after conversion, open the linked opportunity from the project's Info tab.
