Vizibl’s permission system has enabled companies to manage access to their data in a fine grained manner for many years. The hierarchical permissions Vizibl supports means that access can be layered in across the whole system as required.
Permissions can now be managed at the Organisation and Company level within the admin application. There are four key roles, with hierarchical permissions:
Organisation Admin | Can manage organisation level settings (organisation tree, company admins, suppliers users). |
Companies Admin | Companies Admin role for all company objects in the organisation and any new ones created under the organisation. |
Companies Reporting Admin | Grants the Reporting Admin role for all Company objects in the organisation |
Programmes Admin* | Grants user full admin access for all programmes owned by the organisation, *applicable for customers using the Supplier Sustainability module |
To manage Organisation permissions, as an Organisation admin go to Admin > Organisation Settings > Permissions. To add a new user to the management team, click on Add Users
On the next modal, one of the previously onboarded users can be selected. For more information on onboarding users check out our dedicated article on User Management.
Please note a user can have multiple roles simultaneously. The Organisation Admin can add more roles as required before proceeding to the next step.
Finally, a confirmation pop-up with a summary of the permissions assigned is displayed to ensure the changes are as intended.
Please be mindful that all permissions assigned at an Organisation level cascade to every company in the organisation. For example, an Organisation Admin grants Company Admin role for every Company within the organisation implicitly.
This means any new company that get created under the same organisation will automatically be included. This also means these top level users are extremely privileged and have global permissions across the organisation.
Before promoting other Companies Admins or other Organisation Admins to help you manage your organisation, ensure they have the relevant training and are aware of what these roles entail.
In the organisation settings, Organisation Admins have access to four main sections:
Compared to a Companies Admin's view:
1. In the companies section the Org Admin/Companies admin can switch between different company settings and select whichever companies they need to make changes on and configure.
2. In the Organisation Tree section, the Org Admins and Company Admins can further expand the organisation structure by creating/deleting/editing companies.
3. In the Permissions tab the Org admin can manage the organisation-wide roles.
4. Organisation Admins and Company Admins can create new suppliers as well as manage their respective users.
