This article serves as a reference glossary for all settings available on the Lobby Display, organized by the tab or area in which they appear. Settings are accessible either through the Lobby App (lobby.waitwell.us) or via the Staff App's Lobby Settings panel.
Lobby App Settings
The following settings are configured within the Lobby App interface (lobby.waitwell.us) after entering your WaitWell Key. They are organized by the tab in which they appear.
Layout Tab
The Layout tab controls the overall visual structure of the lobby display. Select one of four layout options to determine how queues, stages, and tickets are presented on screen.
Setting | Description |
Displays each queue as its own table, with the Queue name as the heading and Stage names (e.g., Next, Being Served, Waiting Elsewhere) as sub-headings beneath it. Best for locations with multiple distinct queues.
Groups tickets by Stage and displays them vertically down the page. Each stage appears as a horizontal section. Useful when a single queue view is preferred.
Groups tickets into columns across the page organized by Stage. The 'Being Served' tickets appear in the rightmost column. This is the current default selection. Good for wide-screen displays.
Focuses the display on a single Desk or Room. Shows the current occupant(s) of that specific desk/room. Ideal for individual room or office signage displays.
Queues & Appearance Tab
Controls which queues and locations are shown, how they are organized, and the general visual appearance of the display.
Setting | Description |
Select which locations and/or queues are shown on this lobby display. Use the CHOOSE button to open the selector.
When enabled, all queues for a given location are combined into one unified list rather than being displayed separately.
Sets how long (in seconds) each queue or location is displayed before rotating to the next. Default is 7 seconds.
When enabled, applies color coding based on the queue and service type associated with each ticket for quick visual identification.
Displays distinct icons next to ticket names to indicate whether the visit is a walk-in or a scheduled appointment.
Sets the size of the text displayed on the lobby screen. Default is 50px. Adjust based on screen size and viewing distance.
Automatically scrolls the lobby display so that all tickets are visible, even if they exceed the screen's visible area.
When enabled, centers the organization's logo in the header of the lobby display rather than aligning it to the left.
Shows the current local time on the lobby display. Enabled by default.
Switches the lobby display to a dark color theme. Useful for environments where a dark background is preferred for readability or aesthetics.
Options Tab
Fine-grained controls for what information is shown or hidden on the lobby display, including wait times, positions, stages, and the Being Served section.
Setting | Description |
Shows a scannable QR code on the lobby screen that customers can use to navigate to the client-facing site (e.g., to join the queue from their phone).
Shows the name of the location prominently in the header area of the lobby display. Enabled by default.
If a phone number is associated with the queue, it will be displayed on the lobby screen for customer reference.
When enabled, hides the numerical position (e.g., 1, 2, 3) next to each ticket name so customers only see names without queue order.
Shows the overall estimated wait time for the queue at the top or in the header area of the display. Enabled by default.
Shows the individual estimated remaining wait time next to each specific ticket on the display.
When enabled, tickets that are placed On Hold will still show their position and wait times on the lobby display rather than being hidden or treated differently.
If a description has been added to the queue, it will appear on the lobby display for customer visibility.
Hides the Waiting Stage 1 (Outside) section from the lobby display entirely. Use when this stage is not relevant to your workflow or physical setup.
Hides the Waiting Stage 2 (Inside) section from the lobby display. Use when this stage is not applicable.
Hides the Being Served section from the lobby display so customers cannot see who is currently being helped.
Changes the Being Served section to group and display tickets by the desk or room they are being served at, rather than in a general list.
Sorts the Being Served section so the most recently called ticket appears at the top of the list.
Sorts the Being Served section alphabetically or numerically by desk/room name rather than by time called.
Hides the Stage name labels (e.g., "Next", "Being Served", "Waiting Elsewhere") from the display, showing only the ticket entries themselves.
Announcements Tab
Settings for visual and audio announcements when tickets are called to Being Served. Note: If using sound features, add https://lobby.waitwell.us to your browser's trusted sites.
Setting | Description |
When a new ticket is moved to the Being Served stage, it will visually blink on the lobby display for 20 seconds to draw attention to the update.
When enabled, a popup overlay appears on the lobby display whenever a new ticket is called to Being Served. Enabled by default.
Controls how long (in seconds) the popup announcement panel stays visible for each newly served ticket. Default is 5 seconds.
Plays an audible chime/ding sound through the display device's speakers whenever a ticket is called to Being Served. Requires https://lobby.waitwell.us to be added to the browser's trusted sites.
Uses text-to-speech to audibly announce the name or identifier of each ticket when it is called to Being Served. Requires trusted site configuration.
Enables an alternative, remote-based speech synthesis service for announcements. This is a beta feature and may behave differently than the default browser speech engine.
Controls the speed at which ticket names are spoken aloud during announcements. Options typically include Slow, Normal, and Fast. Default is Normal.
Forces all spoken announcements to use English regardless of the ticket holder's language or system language settings.
Profile Tab
The Profile tab allows you to name and save the current configuration as a reusable profile, and provides tools for sharing or switching lobby settings.
Setting | Description |
The name assigned to this saved lobby display configuration profile, used for easy identification when managing multiple lobby displays.
Generates and copies a URL encoding all current lobby display settings. Share this URL to apply identical settings to another display instantly.
Switch this display to a different WaitWell account by entering an alternate lobby key without navigating away from the current lobby URL.
Staff App – Lobby Display Settings
The following settings are managed from within the Staff App under the Lobby Display or Lobby Settings section. These controls govern how the lobby display is configured and connected, and allow staff to set up banners, alerts, and ticket title formatting from the back end.
Setting | Description |
The unique access code used to connect the lobby display to the correct WaitWell account. Enter this at https://lobby.waitwell.us to activate a display.
Defines what is shown as the ticket title on the lobby display. Uses merge fields such as {FirstName} and {Last4Digits} to personalize how tickets appear.
Allows you to create and manage named profiles for lobby display settings. Profiles make it easy to duplicate and apply consistent configurations across multiple lobby displays.
Enables a persistent banner message at the top of the lobby page for a specific location. Useful for general announcements or notices.

Additional Notes
Sound-based features (Ding, Announce) require https://lobby.waitwell.us to be added to the browser's trusted sites on the display device.
Profile settings saved in the Lobby App are tied to the lobby key and can be shared via the Copy Settings URL function.
The Remote Speech Service is a Beta feature and behavior may differ from the default browser text-to-speech engine.
