Here's how to message a client. They get your message in the Walkies Journal app, and their replies come to your Inbox.
Message a client from their profile
Tap Clients and open the client.
Tap the message button under their name.
Tap In app message.
Type your message and tap the send button.
Or start from the Inbox
Tap Inbox.
Tap +, then New message.
Pick the client and tap Next.
Type your message and send it.
How it works
You can message clients who are connected to the Walkies Journal app. Others aren't listed. See How do I connect a client to the Walkies Journal app?
Your client gets a New message push notification. Both owners can see the conversation.
Under your last message you'll see Delivered, then Read once they've opened it, with the time.
Each message shows who sent it, and the conversation shows dates and times. See How do I see who sent a message, and when?
Their replies show in your Inbox, and every admin and sub-admin is notified.
On Walkies Max, you can send photos, videos and GIFs too. See How do I send a photo or video in a message?
Links, phone numbers and email addresses in messages can be tapped. See How do links, phone numbers and emails work in messages?
During a walk or visit, you or the team member doing it can also live chat with the client in its Feed. See Can I live chat with clients during a walk or visit?
Manage messages
Tap one of your messages to Copy or Delete it.
Tap ⋯ in a conversation and choose Delete to remove the whole conversation for you and your client.
Use Inbox > the actions button to mark conversations as read.
Good to know
Team members don't have an Inbox. They chat with clients in the Feed of the walks and visits they're assigned to.
The message button also offers Text message, which opens your phone's Messages app with the client's number.
