Yes, you can live chat with your clients. Every walk and visit has a Feed, a real-time chat between you and your client. Messages show up instantly on both sides while the walk or visit is happening, and afterwards. Team members can use it too, so whoever is doing the walk can chat with the client directly.
Chat during a walk
Start the walk, or open the one that's happening now.
Tap Feed.
Tap Write a comment... and type your message.
Tap the send button.
Your client sees it straight away in the Walkies Journal app, and when they reply it appears in Feed right away, without refreshing.
Chat about a finished walk or visit
Tap Menu.
Tap All completed activities.
Tap the walk or visit.
Tap Feed.
Type your message and tap the send button.
There's no time limit, so you can keep chatting after the walk or visit has ended.
Chat about one update
On Updates, tap the update, like a photo.
Tap š¬.
Type your message and send it. It shows Commenting on update while you type. Tap the X on it to chat about the whole walk instead.

Who gets notified
When you send a message, your client gets a notification that opens the chat. It goes by push notification in the Journal app, or by email or text, depending on their notification settings.
When your client sends a message, everyone assigned to the walk or visit gets a push notification, and so do admins.
Both of you can also react to updates with an emoji, like ā¤ļø or š.

Who can chat
Team members: on the walks and visits they're assigned to, while they're happening and afterwards. It's the way team members chat with clients in the app, as they don't have an Inbox.
The account owner: on every walk and visit.
Clients: in the Walkies Journal app. See How do I comment on a walk or visit?

Good to know
It works on walks and on every kind of visit: drop-ins, pet sitting, daycare, boarding, training, grooming and meet and greets.
Messages are text. To send photos or videos, add them as updates.
You can delete your own messages: tap the message and choose Delete comment.
You need a connection to send. Offline, the box shows Unavailable in offline mode.
The Feed isn't on group walks yet. End the other walks to use it for this one.
For chat that isn't about a walk or visit, admins can use the Inbox. See How do I message a client?
