🟠 Bitcoin on-chain: your BTC under self-custody
The Bitcoin on-chain network is Bitcoin's original network.
On Wallib:
You have an on-chain BTC pocket where you can have self-custody.
That means you control your keys, and only you can move that BTC.
You can receive BTC on-chain and, if your balance is in this pocket, also send it via an on-chain address.
It's the ideal option if you want to maintain full sovereignty over your Bitcoin.
⚡ Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN): fast payments
The Lightning Network is a second layer on top of Bitcoin, designed for fast, low-cost payments.
On Wallib:
When you buy BTC via PSE, it's currently credited to your Lightning (LN) pocket.
You can send BTC via LN using:
A Lightning invoice (bill or QR), or
An email-style Lightning address, for example:
user@domain.
You can also receive BTC via LN using the options the app gives you (invoice/QR/LN address).
It's perfect for agile payments, smaller amounts, or frequent use ⚡
💵 USDT TRC20 (Tron): your digital dollars on Wallib
Wallib supports USDT on the TRC20 network (Tron).
In practice:
When you buy USD on Wallib, it's credited to you as USDT on the TRC20 network.
International deposits you receive via:
SEPA / IBAN (Europe)
ACH / WIRE (USA) are converted and credited as USDT within your Wallib account.
You can send and receive USDT TRC20 using Tron network addresses compatible with that standard.
TRC20 is the network you should always choose when sending or receiving USDT to/from Wallib 💡
🟣 Coming soon: USDT on the Polygon network
In addition to TRC20, Wallib will enable USDT on the Polygon network.
This will let you:
Have another network option to move your USDT,
With more flexibility depending on the type of wallet, exchange, or DeFi ecosystem you want to connect to.
Once Polygon is available, you'll clearly see in the app which network you're using when sending or receiving USDT.
⚠️ Important: always choose the right network
When sending crypto to or from Wallib, make sure to:
Use on-chain BTC only with on-chain addresses.
Use Lightning only with LN invoices or addresses.
Use USDT TRC20 only with addresses that support Tron / TRC20.
And, once available, choose Polygon only if the destination also supports that network.
If you choose the wrong network when sending funds, the assets can be lost and unrecoverable.
That's why, if you're unsure, it's best to:
Try first with a small amount,
Or confirm with the recipient which network they support before sending 🚦
