Your money is protected with several advanced security measures — here's how it works.
On-Chain Bitcoin pocket
When you keep Bitcoin in Wallib's on-chain pocket, your funds are entirely under your control. For extra security, you can generate a 12-word seed phrase. This phrase is the key to recovering your wallet if you ever need to restore it. It's essential that you keep this phrase somewhere safe and private, since no one else will be able to access your wallet without it.
Lightning Network pocket
In the case of Wallib's Lightning Network pocket, funds are held in Wallib's nodes. This setup lets us offer fast transactions without excessive fees. However, keep in mind that the security of your Lightning funds depends on Wallib's infrastructure, so it's important to follow good security practices.
PIN and access code
Every user must create their own PIN to access the Wallib app. This PIN is essential to ensure that only you have access to your account and funds. Make sure to choose a unique, secure PIN. Also, keep it secret and don't share it with anyone. If you ever forget your PIN, be sure to follow our available access-recovery process.
Sign in with fingerprint and Face ID
For even faster and more secure authentication, Wallib lets you sign in with your fingerprint or Face ID. This option adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only you can access your account, conveniently and quickly. Turn on this feature to improve your experience and keep your account even more secure.
