Why did my AI task fail or take too long

Fix slow or failed AI tasks for clips, summaries, and editor tools.

👀 Availability

Processing speed, video length, credits, source access, and AI feature availability can depend on your plan and workspace.

AI tasks can take longer when the video is long, high resolution, or complex to process. They can fail when the source becomes unavailable, your credits are too low, the file has issues, or the selected feature is not available on your plan.

This article applies to tasks such as:

  • AI Clipping

  • Game Clipping

  • Find Moments

  • Video Summary

  • Transcript or subtitles

  • AI Video generation

  • Auto AI Reframe

  • AI Hook, AI B-roll, AI Thumbnail, Speech Enhance, AI Emoji, AI Music, or AI Sound Effect

Why a task may take longer

Reason

What it means

Long video

Longer videos need more processing time

High-resolution source

Large or high-quality files can take longer

Bulk workflow

Processing many clips or URLs can add queue time

Plan priority

Processing priority can vary by plan

If the task is still running, avoid starting the same task repeatedly unless you want another output. Regenerating can start a new task and may use credits again.

Why a task may fail

Common causes include:

  • The source video was deleted, expired, private, or region-restricted

  • The local file is damaged, too large, or in an unsupported format

  • Your workspace does not have enough credits

  • The selected feature is not included in your plan

  • The video is longer than the feature or plan limit

  • The browser session or network connection was interrupted during upload or setup

If the problem started with upload or link import, see Why did my upload or video link fail?.

What to try

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh your Library or project page and check whether the result is already available.

  2. Confirm the original video link still opens in a signed-out browser window.

  3. Check that your plan supports the selected feature and video length.

  4. Check whether your credits are too low.

  5. If the task failed, retry once after checking the source and settings.

Credits for failed tasks

If a task fails and does not deliver a completed result, the credits or usage allowance used by that task are returned.

For AI video generation, this means usage is returned if you do not receive a completed generated video that you can view. For other individual AI features, credits are returned when that feature fails.
