With the local charges ordering tool, you can choose how to organise your local charges when creating a quotation. This saves time so you don’t have to manually organise or enter them with every new quotation.

You can do this in different ways to make them more convenient to manage or to suit the needs of you or your team.

You’ll first of all need to make a static rate search, choose the rates that suit you and then follow the quote creation process. When you’re entering the shipment details during the quote creation process, navigate to the Local Charges tab.

When clicking on the Sort by dropdown, you’ll have the following options to organise your Local Charges:

Clicking any of these options will order the results as defined by the selection.

Setting default ordering for users

If you are an admin or super admin you can select the default local charges order for each user. To do this go to Settings, Users then select Users from the dropdown.

If the user doesn’t exist you’ll need to add them first. If they are already on the platform, find their information and then click on the pen and pencil symbol next to them to edit their details.

Navigate to the Default values tab.

Click on the Default local charges order dropdown and select how you want the local charges to be organised by default. Remember to click Save so these changes are applied. This order will now be the default for the user when they’re creating quotations.

Customised order for Sales profiles

You can create a customised order for your Local Charges when selecting specific sales profiles. This order can be defined inside the Local Charges page by going to Settings, Local Charges, then selecting Local Charges from the dropdown.

Firstly, choose one of your pre-created Sales Profiles. If you’re not sure how to add Sales Profiles you can find out how to do that here.

When selecting an already created profile, you’ll be able to manually shift the order of the local charges. You can drag and drop the Local Charges into any order.

Once ordered, click on the Search button again to save the order. You cannot shift the order the first time afterwards, but click Search once more and you can order them again.

Selecting a Sort by option when creating a quote

When selecting the Sales profile and adding information for your quote, you can select the Sort by dropdown and then Customised. This will order your local charges in the order you had previously created following the instructions mentioned earlier.

If you have selected Customised or any other order apart from Manual, located at the top of this list, you will not be able to change the order of the local charges.

However, if Manual order is selected you will be able to move the local charges around and organise them as you wish.

If a previous Sort by option was selected and then Manual was selected afterwards, the system will maintain the initial order, then activate the option to drag the Local Charge to the position that you want. This is identifiable through the group of dots to the left of each charge which signifies they can be moved.
