When making an eBooking, some airlines do not require you to manually enter an AWB number in order to book as long as you have stock assigned to your IATA number.

In this case, when finalizing your eBooking, WebCargo will communicate with the airline's system to check if you have stock associated with your IATA number. It will then retrieve your next unused AWB number.

With other airlines, you will automatically be assigned an AWB when finalizing your eBooking, meaning you do not have to have stock assigned to your IATA number.

The airlines which currently offer the automatic AWB service if you have airline stock registered with your IATA number are:

Air Canada Cargo

Air France / KLM

American Airlines Cargo

EL AL

Finnair Cargo

LATAM Cargo

Qatar Airways Cargo

TAP Cargo

Turkish Airlines Cargo

The airlines that don't require you to have stock to place eBookings and will automatically assign at the review and book stage are:

ECS

Lufthansa

SAS (Scandinavian Airlines)

Silk Way West Airlines

How to use the automatic AWB stock feature

Follow the normal eBooking process through the New eBooking tab, make a search and select your rate.

When you’re on the review and book page before confirming your eBooking, you’ll see a section called AWB number. If you have selected a rate from any of the airlines shown above, the AWB number box will be greyed and you will not be able to enter anything.

You will then be able to click on Book this shipment without entering a number or having to use AWB stock.

Once Book this shipment is clicked, a call will be made to the airline's website. The airline will automatically and instantly supply your eBooking with an automatic AWB number, in turn helping you to secure your shipments even more quickly.

The AWB that has been used will show on the created eBooking within the My eBookings tab.
