Editing an Email Template

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Editing email templates allows you to refine your communication with buyers and tailor your messages to meet specific needs. By making updates to your templates, you can ensure your messages are always aligned with current information, offers, or specific buyer needs.

This guide will walk you through the simple process of editing your personal email templates.

Before We Get Started

  • You can edit only Personal Templates—those that you’ve created and have access to.

  • Global Templates, which are shared among all users on your Work Truck Solutions commercial site, cannot be edited, but they can be cloned to create new templates.

How to Edit a Template

Step 1: Go to the My Buyers Page

  • Log in to your Work Truck Solutions account and navigate to the My Buyers page.

Step 2: Click on the Manage Email Templates Button

  • In the top right-hand corner of the page, click on the Manage Email Templates button to open the Manage Email Templates page.

Step 3: Select the Template to Edit

  • From the Select Template drop-down menu, choose the template you would like to edit from the Personal templates.

In the example pictured, we can see the current template name is VanBuilder and can also see the current body message for this template.

Step 4: Make Changes to Your Template

  • Make any necessary changes to the Subject Line or Message fields.

    • You will have the options to Rename or Delete the template if desired.

In the example picture, we can see that we have added a bit more verbiage to the body message for this email template.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

  • Once you’ve made the desired changes, click the Save button in the bottom right corner of the page.

  • Note: The Save button will originally appear grayed out and will only appear active once you’ve made changes to the template.

Conclusion

Editing your email templates is a valuable tool for improving communication with buyers and ensuring that your messages are always up-to-date and relevant.

Remember, while you can only edit Personal Templates that you've created, cloning Global Templates is an effective way to customize shared templates for your team's needs. With these tips, you’ll be able to maintain a consistent, professional, and personalized approach to your outreach.
