Prospecting from My Buyers

Overview

This article offers a step-by-step guide on how to send personalized 2-Minute Prospecting messages to buyers from the My Buyers page. The 2-Minute Prospecting tool is easy to use and is a great way to get more traction on your inventory and increase brand awareness with your buyers. It allows you to send marketing emails to up to 50 buyers at a time, including vehicle photos, pricing information, and Vehicle Detail Page links to direct buyers back to your Work Truck Solutions site. You can craft a message from scratch or use an email template, either from your personal folder or one that’s been shared by other Truck Pros.

Before We Get Started

Some key things to remember:

  • While there is no restriction on the number of vehicles you can include, it's recommended to select only a few vehicles to avoid overwhelming your buyers.

  • Editing pricing is tied to a specific permission within Truck Pro Management, so this functionality of editing pricing for the listings selected may not be available to all users.

Step-by-Step Guide to Sending a Prospecting Message

Step 1: Go to the My Buyers Page

  • After logging into your Work Truck Solutions commercial site, navigate to the My Buyers page within your site.

Step 2: Access the Prospecting button

There are three ways to access the two 2-Minute Prospecting tool from the My Buyers page:

  • Top Right Corner of My Buyers page

    • On the My Buyers page, locate the 2-Minute Prospecting button in the upper right-hand corner and click it.

  • Individual buyer detail section on My Buyers Page

    • When clicking the drop-down arrow in the “More” column for an individual buyer, you can easily access the 2-Minute Prospecting button.

  • Individual Buyers Profile

    • After you have clicked on an individual buyer it will direct you to that Buyers profile and you will have the ability to send a prospecting message.

Step 3: Choose Buyers

Once you have opened up the 2-Minute Prospecting page, you can select to send a message to your existing buyers or add new buyers. Each buyer will receive a separate, personalized email (up to 50 at once).

Choose an Existing Buyers

  1. Click the orange Choose Buyers button in the left upper side of the screen.

  2. This will open the Buyers pop-up window, where you can:

    1. Sort by All Tags or All Vocations.

    2. Use the Search field to find buyers faster.

    3. Exclude buyers who’ve been messaged recently by using the “Exclude buyers sent prospecting messages in the last X days” option.

  3. Once buyers are selected, they’ll be highlighted in green.

  4. Click done to go to the next step of either adding new buyers or to Choose Listings.

Adding a New Buyer

  1. Dealers can simply enter the buyers first name, last name, email, and phone number.

  2. They can click Save & Add to complete adding the new buyer to the chosen buyer list to send the prospecting message to.

Step 4: Choose Listings

Next, you will select the listings that you want to showcase to your buyers in your prospecting message.

  • Select the Choose Listings button to open up your inventory list.

  • This will open up a pop-up where you can begin sorting your vehicles by different drop-downs or Searching for a specific vehicle.

    • You can sort vehicles using options like My Inventory, All Body Types.

  • Once you have located your preferred listings to send to your buyers, you will click on them which will highlight them green. You can then click done to move on to the next step.

Step 5: Edit Pricing

Once you have located all the vehicle(s) you want to include in your message, you can choose to adjust pricing. You have the ability to:

  • Use current pricing.

  • Enter a special price.

  • Hide pricing entirely

Step 6: Create the Prospecting Message

You can choose to create your message either from scratch or using an email template.

Option 1: From Scratch

  • Enter a Subject Line and a Message in the provided fields.

Option 2: From an Email Template

  • Click the Select Template dropdown.

  • Choose from existing templates.

    • The Subject and Message fields will automatically populate, but dealers can still make edits as needed.

Step 7: (Optional) Add Attachments, Resources, or Personalized Text

If you want to enhance their message, you can use the buttons below the message field:

  • Add Attachments: Attach up to five files.
    Accepted file types include: PDF, JPEG, PNG, TXT, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX.

  • Resources: Add relevant marketing or product materials.

  • Personalized Text: Insert dynamic fields like buyer name or dealership info for a more personal touch.

Step 8: Send the Prospecting message

At the bottom-right corner, you will see:

  • CC Me Box: By default, the CC Me box will be un-checked.

    • Check this to receive a copy of each prospecting email sent.

  • Preview Button: Allows you to see how the email will appear for the buyer(s) before sending.

  • Send Button: Sends the finalized Quick Quote to all selected buyer(s) along with the chosen work truck or van, your personalized message, direct links to the Vehicle Detail Pages for each selected vehicle and any attachments.

Step 9: View Activity of 2-Minute Prospecting message on My Buyers page

  • Once you have clicked the Send button and sent your prospecting messages, you will be directed back to My Buyers.

  • Here you will immediately see the date and timestamp under the Last Activity (Truck Pro) column confirming that the message has been sent for each of the buyers that were included in your 2-Minute Prospecting message.

  • If you click on the Last Activity (Truck Pro) cell for each individual buyer, it will direct you to the Activity Log on the specific buyer’s profile.

    • Here in the activity log for the selected buyer, we can see a copy of the text portion of the 2-Minute Prospecting message, the included vehicles, as well as the pricing you chose to include.

      • If you chose to include a special price or hide the pricing, you will see that notated.
